HAPPY FLAG DAY FROM THE MILITARY COLLECTIBLES SHOP!

On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution stating that "the national flag should consist of 13 alternating red and white stripes and 13 white stars on a blue field to represent a new constellation".

Bernard Cigrand, a schoolteacher in Wisconsin, first organized a formal observance of the flag’s birthday on June 14, 1885.

President Woodrow Wilson established Flag Day in 1916, and Congress officially designated the day in 1949 under President Harry Truman.

The Military Collectibles Shop will be CLOSED next Saturday June 20th as we will be attending the WWII DAYS event in Menominee Falls. Always a great time - Hope to see you out there! (Unless it rains, then we will probably open the shop!)

Today we celebrate the anniversary of “D-Day” June 6, 1944 -the invasion of Normandy. United States, British and Canadian forces landed on the beaches, cracked the “Atlantic wall” and created a foothold in “Fortess Europa“. 🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦

Well the early morning run through at the flea market was a bit soggy- still managed to find a few treasures, but the highlight was seeing some Military Collectibles Shop swag on someone else’s car!
