When Night Speaks to Dawn

Beneath the listening moon
they face one another—
Raven of the first shadow,
Owl of the final light.

Between them, the world holds its breath.

Raven carries the memory of beginnings,
ink-dark wings etched with stories
older than fire.
He remembers when the stars
were still deciding where to sit,
when names were not yet spoken
but already understood.

Owl arrives wrapped in quiet gold,
feathers pale as ancestral bone,
eyes full of endings that are not deaths
but doorways.
She knows how truth softens
when spoken slowly,
how wisdom waits
until the heart is ready.

The moon above them is not a witness—
it is a drum.
Each circle a rhythm of becoming,
each mark a vow
the universe once made
and never forgot.

Raven asks the question
that begins the journey.
Owl answers with silence,
which completes it.

Mountains lean closer.
Pines bow their heads.
The ground remembers your footsteps
even before you arrive.

If you stand between these two spirits,
do not choose sides.
You were meant to carry both—
the courage to enter the dark
and the patience to wait for light.

This is the teaching they share
without words:
Life is not the struggle
between night and day,
but the sacred moment
when they recognize each other
and agree to keep the world turning.

When did you lose your magic, woman?
When did the stars stop feeling like a thousand tiny doors
you could open with a single wish?
When did the fire in your ribs dim
to a coal you were afraid to touch?

Was it on some quiet morning
when you looked out the bus window
and realized you’d been waiting—
for a sign, for a break, for someone to choose you—
longer than you’d been living?

Or maybe the truth is gentler than that:
maybe you never lost anything.
Maybe the magic curled itself inward,
waiting for you to remember your own name,
your own pulse, your own impossible light.

Because you—
you were the wish all along.
You were the fire,
the constellation,
the door that opens.

And you found it again
the moment you chose yourself.

Here’s to the dreamers—
the ones with tender eyes and soft hearts,
who’ve known the ache of loving deeply
and the silence that follows when that love isn't returned.

To the ones who’ve broken open a hundred times
and still offer their hearts like wildflowers,
delicate, resilient, untouched by bitterness.

To those who carry quiet hopes in the hollow of their ribs—
I hope that maybe, just maybe,
someone will see them and stay.
Not for a moment, but for the miracle of presence.

Here’s to the ones who weep in the dark,
then wipe their tears
and turn on the light for someone else.

To the ones who’ve been told they’re too much,
too soft, too strange,
too full of longing—
and who’ve learned that those very things
are the map to their magic.

Here’s to the dreamers
who choose to believe in connection anyway—
not perfect, not painless,
but real.

May we all find the courage
to hold each other’s dreams
the way we cradle something sacred and breakable—
with reverence, with wonder, with both hands open.

Because what if we are not alone in our longing?
What if the ache we feel
is the thread that binds us
to every other heart that dares to beat this bravely?

We carry it together—
this ache, this hope, this fierce desire to be known.
A constellation of souls scattered across time and space,
reaching for each other in quiet moments,
finding home in the shimmer of shared light.

And when it gets hard—
when love feels far,
when grief swells and loneliness whispers cruel things—
may we remember this:

There are others.
Just like you.
Dreamers.
Feelers.
Beacons.

And you are not too much.
You are the exact shape
of the love someone else is aching for.

So dream.
Speak.
Reach.
Hold.

And never stop believing
that the impossible becomes possible
when we choose to see each other clearly—
and stay.

This morning during meditation, I found myself pondering the meaning of resilience. Is it something we can clearly define, like success? Or is it a deeply personal experience, unique to each of us?

I’m not entirely sure.

When life becomes overwhelming—when fear, sadness, or overstimulation take hold—I retreat inward. I need time to process, to sit with my thoughts. Sometimes resilience means pushing forward, but other times, it’s like walking through a quiet forest, listening to the whispers of my heart and soul.

It can also look like leaning on friends and family, finding connection and grounding in their presence. There was a time when the traumas in my life made me feel broken, when I was addicted to chaos and kept myself endlessly busy to avoid sitting still.

But now, stillness has become part of my strength.

I no longer judge myself by external markers of success. To me, success is as simple as having a roof over my head, food to share, and the relationships I’ve nurtured. Resilience, I’ve learned, isn’t about perfection or constant motion—it’s about finding peace in the stillness and strength in the connections that sustain us.

May you find strength today 💜
