Hey friends,
I would like to clarify some misunderstandings regarding this year's festival.
I had every intention of returning and participating in the event once again. In May, I began my usual seasonal preparations after receiving what I understood to be confirmation from festival staff that plans for the fall season were moving forward. As I had in previous years, I started coordinating the operations related to the Rose Booth in anticipation of my return.
However, I was later informed that my position had been eliminated and that I would not be participating in the 2026 season. While I understand that the festival has every right to make staffing and operational decisions as it sees fit, I am disappointed in how this situation was communicated. Based on my history with the event and the conversations that had taken place, I had every reason to believe I would be part of this fall's festivities.
As an independent contractor, this festival represented more than just another event on my calendar. It made up a significant portion of my annual income and helped carry me through the winter months when seasonal opportunities are limited. Losing this opportunity has me facing uncertainty about the future, it may mean getting off the road.
Since learning of this decision, i chose to remain silent until i could group myself and form words.
For those planning weddings and special events this season, please know that I will not be involved in the festival's floral operations this year. The floral arrangements, bouquets, and wedding services provided by the festival moving forward will be managed by others. The photographs and floral designs featured throughout this page primarily document work I personally created during previous seasons and reflect my floral style and portfolio.
This page has showcased years of my floral artistry, creativity, and memories. In the coming weeks, it will transition from The Queen's Bloomers to Florals by Alison.
While this chapter has come to an unexpected end, the flowers, designs, and experiences documented here remain an important part of my journey. I plan to preserve this page as both an archive of past work and a place to share future floral projects, artistic pursuits, and whatever adventures may come next.
To everyone who visited the Rose Booth, shared a conversation, purchased a rose, entrusted me with your wedding flowers, or supported me over the years: thank you. Your kindness, friendship, and support have meant more than you know, and I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you.
