Hello artists! Long time no talk! 💖
I’ve had lots of people ask why I’m not doing art classes at the moment, so I wanted to share a little update.
The honest reason is that I was spending hours lesson planning, prepping materials, and renting locations, and unfortunately, many classes ended up with last minute cancellations. While I’ve hosted several art classes that had amazing turnouts, and I’m immensely grateful for every parent and child who attended, there were also many occasions where over half of my anticipated participants would cancel at the last minute. I completely understand that life happens and things come up, but as a student paying for supplies and class expenses out of pocket while also working full time as a paraprofessional, it became difficult to continue investing so much time, energy, and money into classes that sometimes ended up with only one or two children attending.
Many people have asked why I don’t require payment upfront. The truth is that I never wanted families to feel pressured to pay at the time of booking, especially because cancellations were so common that I would have been processing refunds constantly. Unfortunately, I also experienced situations where parents left without paying after class. As a young and new business owner, finding the right balance became incredibly stressful.
Please don’t forget about me, because I truly hope to bring back art classes and art parties in the future! 🎨
For now, I’m channeling my love of creating into making crafts for local vendor events. It has brought me so much joy and purpose, and seeing people enjoy something I’ve made means more to me than I can put into words.
I would absolutely love to see some of my past students at my upcoming events! My next pop-up will be June 13th at the Coastal Cowgirl Event at Prickly Boba in Waxahachie.
I am immensely grateful for every person who has supported me so far in this dream. We truly live in an incredible community. Thank you for sharing your stories, your lives, and your precious kiddos with me. I hope we get to create together again soon.
With all my love,
Hannah 💕
