Join us at Joy Ice Cream Social for a very special Pints and Plants Crafter Dark event on Wednesday June 24th from 7-8:30PM. You'll learn about native plant gardening, gain hands-on experience while helping to plant the new native plant garden at Joy Ice Cream Social, and take home a six pack of pints and plants of your own.

Andy will be sharing information about the ecological benefits of native plant gardening, native plant selection, invasive species, urban gardening, microclimates, water control, wildlife habitat and more. Bring your specific questions about your own existing or future pollinator garden space.

This session accommodates all learning styles and experience levels.

Included with your $75 ticket:

🦋 60 minutes - Guided conversation covering:
🌱 The importance and benefits of native gardening
🌱 The how-to of native plant gardening
🌱 Planning your own garden
🌱 Answering questions about your garden spaces.

Do you have figwort (Scrophularia spp.) in your native garden? You should!. Here's 10 reasons why.

1. Prolific nectar producing flowers.
2. Attracts large quantities of pollinators including hummingbirds!
3. Grows in all light conditions, from full sun to full shade.
4. Their tiny pitcher shaped green and red blooms are incredibly COOL.
5. Early Figwort (Scrophularia lanceolata) blooms May - July.
6. Late Figwort (Scrophularia marilandica) blooms July - October.
7. Two species, full season blooms!
8. Predatory wasps which control aphid and fly populations are attracted to their nectar.
9. Deer resistant!
10. Tall stems with tear drop shaped seed pods provide visual interest through winter.

Good news! We have a second event at Joy Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 13. We will stick around from 3pm-7pm for Midtown Pride. Pride stickers designed by Andy will be available for both sales and proceeds will be donated to our friends at Courage Plus.
