During these trying times, we have all been looking at ways to stem the pandemic that has affected each and every one of our communities. This week, it would appear that once again Governor Cuomo has his sights on va**ng. This time, however, utilizing the COVID-19 outbreak as a means to undermine our industry.

Governor Cuomo has been using his lawyers to litigate this issue during a national emergency. See the letters on court action that have been taking place in the middle of the Coronavirus epidemic. We can see the evidence forming that a new attack is underway

• Last week, Cuomo was still trying to end-run the legislative process.
• Cuomo's lawyers are telling the court flavored v***r is an "emergency".

This is a policy decision that should not be in the budget. It creates a tax revenue gap. In addition, there has not been a single public hearing on the issue. Working behind closed doors to pressure state leaders shouldn't be tolerated. It is important that we use this time and contact his office and open a new line of dialogue. Let's tell Cuomo to focus on the real emergency and not our industry.
