As a kid, Memorial Day meant the start of summer… cookouts, sunshine, and long weekends. But the older I get, the more I understand that Memorial Day isn’t just about remembering history — it’s about remembering people. Real lives. Real families. Real sacrifice.

Today is for those who gave more than most of us could ever imagine in defense of freedom, democracy, and the right for others to live with dignity and peace. Their sacrifice wasn’t only for a moment in history, but for values that continue to shape and guide our lives every single day.

Remembering those who served with deepest respect and gratitude.

Mother’s Day is almost here!

I’m at The Pourt until Noon today with fresh, beautiful smelling flowers perfect for celebrating Mom… or honestly, anyone who deserves something special this weekend.

Stop in for a cup of coffee, soak in the flower goodness, and pick up a bouquet filled with all the best spring blooms. There’s just something about tulips, ranunculus, and peonies in May that feels extra magical.

The Pourt is located inside Burlington’s Aurora Wellness Center — and you do not need to be a member to come enjoy the coffee shop.

The sun is shining and its a bit warmer today. However, if earlier this week felt like a step backwards… you’re not wrong. The high winds, the bitter cold, the snow again — it’s a lot when we are all ready for spring.

The garden took a hit this week, but this is how it goes every year. A little mess. A lot of patience.

And somehow, it still all comes together
