Welcome to artist, Linda Skelton, who lives between Waterford and Edinboro in Leboeuf Township. Linda loves country living and the constant inspiration that nature provides. Most of her inspiration comes from plants and animals and always include a bit of sparkle.
As a creative, she loves experimenting with various mediums from leatherwork to most recently watercolors and crochet. Other creative pursuits include writing short stories, floral and jewelry design. (which earned ribbons at Waterford Fair)
Linda’s aesthetic is and has always been western. She loves cactus and that became the inspiration for this year’s palette, “Shimmering Southwest.” She used acrylic paints, ordinary glitter, (can glitter be ordinary) and Swarovski rhinestones
When she began, she wasn’t sure what message she wanted her art to send. However, midway through her project, her Dad got very unexpectedly sick and passed away. She didn’t know if she could even complete the palette but found that art could truly be therapy. It helped her gain some relief from her grief, if only for a few minutes at a time.
