EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!
I.B. Nuts has new owners!
Brooke and Matt Schaedler are the new owners as of 5/29.
Brooke and Matt have lived just outside Krakow for over 20 years and are deeply rooted in the Washington community. They have one son, Benjamin, a proud football Knight and will be a junior at St. Francis Borgia High School.
Brooke has worked for Edward Jones for nearly 21 years, including 15 years in Downtown Washington. She will continue her career with Edward Jones while operating I.B. Nuts, with daytime help in the shop.
Customers can expect to see her in the store during afternoons and weekends. Her husband Matt is a contractor that runs his own business. He also does wood and metal work on the side. You will see him helping all over the shop as well.
I.B. Nuts has long been a cherished part of downtown Washington. Holly purchased the business in 2019 from Barbara Hillermann and Kristy Stoyer, who had previously purchased it from founder Margaret Horn in 2011. After seven years of ownership and thoughtful consideration, Holly felt the time was right for the next chapter. She looks forward to exploring new career opportunities while remaining active in the community, including continuing her service on the Downtown Washington Inc. Board of Directors.
Over the past several months, Brooke has worked closely with Holly to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for customers and vendors. Under the Schaedler’s ownership, I.B. Nuts will remain committed to offering the freshest products and the most creative gift baskets in the region. The shop will continue to feature its full line of nuts, chocolates, candies, snack mixes, and local wines and spirits, along with a wide selection of “Made in Missouri” products such as soups, dip mixes, salsas, relishes, and jellies. All items can be beautifully packaged into custom gift baskets and shipped nationwide.
Brooke, Matt, and Benjamin are excited to carry on the traditions that have made I.B. Nuts a local treasure. They recognize the store’s legacy and the special place it holds in the hearts of Washington residents.
“We absolutely love Washington and its surrounding communities,” Brooke shared. “We’re honored to have our own piece of downtown and look forward to serving customers for many years to come.”
Please stay tuned for an upcoming Open House where you can wish Holly well on her next chapter and meet the new owners!
