Headed for Seattle -
Just finished this set of 4 reproduction George Washington Camp Cups.
The original cups were made by Philadelphia silversmith, Edmund Milne, in 1777. Washington commissioned Milne to make 12. Thankfully, all 12 originals survived and are on display at The Museum of the American Revolution, Phila., PA.
My faithful pewter adaptations are very popular, especially right here in Washington, NH. We have the distinction of being the first town in the United States incorporated under the name of George Washington, December 13, 1776👍👍

Lg. reproduction Geometric Handle Porringer, Boston, first half of 18th century. The cast handle is planished (hammered) in period style. The careful hammering strengthens the casting.
One of 4 I’m working on this week & part of a 22 piece, 4 place setting wedding set on order👍

Getting ready for summer visitors - I spent the entire week finishing ornaments that I cast this past winter. Yes, I’m a bit of a procrastinator, but periodically, I need to give my body a break from metal spinning, a very physical process. Rounding out the week with Loon Ornaments, a perennial favorite among locals. Let’s hope for lots of healthy loon chicks this summer❣️

All done.
Hard to believe it has been 10 years this month since I made the first Martini Goblet. It was a customer request. Since I’d never seen one made from pewter, I said, yes.
I wanted mine to be unique so I added the beaded edge to the base. I also decided to taper the upper and lower sections of the hand cast shaft.
The end result is a pleasing form that is perfectly balanced and comfortable to hold with just the thumb, middle & forefinger.
I’ve lost track of how many I’ve made. Word has it that Martini’s taste better in them too😉
Cheers🍸🍸🍸🍸

The Granny Vase got its name from one of our good customers who happened to be in the shop the day my father made the first one many years ago. When my father asked for a potential name, she thought a moment, and then said, “call it the Granny Vase. It will be great for those occasions when the grandchildren run up with a hand full of flowers and say, ‘I picked them all for you granny’.” The name stuck and the vase has been a very popular gift item ever since. Made these today💐
