The moment Jacob met the fiery redhead he knew in his bones Lizzie was the one for him, but the only L word said redhead feels for Jacob appears to be loathing. His Feisty Fireball is a spicy, he falls first, reverse grumpy sunshine, rivals to friends to lovers, laugh out loud romance.
Jacob is a man on a mission, and nothing is going to stop him from winning Lizzie's heart. He’ll prove he’s the right man for her, that he’s in it for the long run, no matter what past traumas try to get in their way. He will be the epitome of a golden retriever book boyfriend.
Lizzie learned at a very young age from her mother that love, or better termed lust, at first sight doesn’t last. So, when Jacob saunters into her life and her body comes alive, her first instinct is to run like hell. Yet no matter how many times she pushes him away, Jacob is always persistent, and she’s losing her resolve.
*This is a slow burn, standalone contemporary romance with an HEA written in third person POV intended for adult readers. The Johnston Brothers books may be read in any order but best read in order for optimal enjoyment in terms of timeline.

Bryce
I feel like I’m hanging by a thread. Being a single father and a small business owner is not easy. I work too much, don’t spend enough time with my daughter, and never have enough money. My dating life is virtually non-existent. I’m not sure what the solution is, but something has to give.
And now, after nearly a year, Trinity materializes out of thin air with a bruised face, a battered spirit, and nowhere to go. I’m not sure if I can trust her given all the rumors I’ve heard. But when it comes down to it, she is the mother of my child, and I owe her at least a chance to redeem herself if nothing more.

Trinity
I made a mistake. A big one. Now I know better. I misplaced my trust and by the time I realized my mistake, I was trapped. When I finally get the courage to rescue myself, I have no idea what to do next. The pieces of the life I left behind are nothing but shards of threadbare memories.
There are no do-overs. All I can do is build up from ground zero and hope that my daughter will remember who I am. With any luck, maybe Bryce can find fragments of the girl I used to be somewhere in the mess that I am now. I’m doing my best to get my life back by letting myself heal from the hurt and taking the time I need for myself, for Bryce, and for our daughter.
But there’s something from the past that keeps lingering in this small town, and I can only come up with one way to handle it.

On this day in 1949 George Orwell's 𝑁𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑑𝑒𝑒𝑛 πΈπ‘–π‘”β„Žπ‘‘π‘¦ πΉπ‘œπ‘’π‘Ÿ was first published. In early 2017, the novel re-entered the bestseller charts. An early Cold War-informed novel, a story of a man named Winston Smith who rebels against a totalitarian regime, known as Big Brother. In 1984, a well regarded film adaptation of the novel was released.

Today the book lands on banned book lists all over the United States.
