This week’s sweet reward is Swedish Fish, created by the Swedish company Malaco in the 1950s. The fish-shaped candy highlights Sweden’s culture and fishing industry. The flavor is lingonberry, a Scandinavian berry commonly described as a mix between cranberry and raspberry. In Sweden, the candies are known as pastellfiskar, which translates to “pastel fish.” Stop by and get your next reading challenge and a couple of Swedish Fish!

We were SO EXCITED to see Main Street Books St Charles, MO in its NEW location this weekend! It is gorgeous! We know how much work goes into renovating an historic building and envisioning how to make all the pieces fit into a new space -- and MSB knocked it out of the park! (You bet we were taking notes!) The Missouri Indie Bookshop Tour is just getting warmed up -- take advantage of this week's beautiful weather to get your family -- or your friends -- started on this challenge to visit 33 indie bookshops across our state by the end of August! We know where you can start before you head over to Main Street Books 😉

Billy found his person in Scout at Saturday Storytime in the bookshop. ❤️ What could be more perfect than sharing a great book together cuddling with kittens from the Franklin County Humane Society. These precious kittens all need homes — and the shelter could use our help. Watch for a second post on how you can support their important work. ❤️ Gratitude to Scout and her family for giving Billy kitten a loving home. 😘
