Today we celebrate the materials the Earth gives to produce an art form that will outlive us all. We honor the traditional methods of instrument and bow making while also looking to the future of innovation and sustainability. May we all do our parts.

Happy Earth Day!

This week we will be talking about student-level instruments. Many private teachers have reached out about how many of their students have wanted to upgrade their current instrument but may not want to take the plunge for something super fancy.

Stay tuned as our very own Jim Kelly will be talking about some of these options this week!

Here is our second Italian antique violin with a little bit of a French twist!

This is an exceptional 19th-century Italian violin by Nicolo Bianchi (1803-1881), master of Genoa school who trained legendary makers Scarampella & Antoniazzi. Museum-quality craftsmanship with rich, complex tone ideal for concert performance. Fewer than 50 Bianchi instruments exist worldwide.

Nicolo Bianchi (1803-1881) worked in many places in both Italy and France. Though his output was relatively small, he was instrumental in the renewal of the Genoa school.

This rare, beautiful Del Gesu model made in Paris clearly embodies the high quality workmanship that Bianchi is known for. It has depth, power, and a remarkably quick response. The sweetness of sound pulls in the listener. It is accompanied by a certificate from Eric Blot.
