Pride! and a Sale! and one of our favorite Markets!

June is off to a busy start.

It’s Pride Month & in addition to year round, full on support of LGBTQIA+ communities, we’re always happy to bring more attention with colors and stripes and an array of rainbow designs ready for you.

Saturday is the Brookland Arts Walk Spring Cleaning Sale, held in conjunction with the annual Brookland Yard Sale We’ll have 20% off some mothballed colors and designs … still cute as ever! I just need to simplify things a bit and make room for new things. 10-2 Studio 7 Take advantage of this rare sale opportunity.

And this weekend (Saturday & Sunday) I’ll be popping up at one of my favorite markets: UrbnMarket’s Spring Pop-Up in Bethesda (11-6)

We have so many fun colors & designs. It is time to grab a cesta and get summer ready!

Also just an fyi (for those of you who read through 😊) … our prices are going up SOON. The costs of freight & shipping & markets & labor & materials have all been rising. We need to shift our pricing a bit to help offset some of these increases. So take advantage of our current prices NOW by shopping in person or online this weekend coming week.

What a market! Thanks to for hosting yet another extremely successful and fun spring market.

I enjoyed seeing familiar faces among the other vendors & the friendly vibe is contagious. Everyone was remarkably kind and encouraging and helpful (especially my neighbors 💛)

And you all showed up! It was great to have shoppers recognize us from previous markets, and to have people who bought before seek us out, having returned to buy for themselves or a loved one, or just to show me their cesta in use!

I loved helping people find that perfect bag, or catch-all, or charm. What a treat to be there and to interact with the crowds & to enjoy the fun energy.

It was a busy & long three days (four with setup) and tbh, the commute to Berryville can drag on in the evenings but it’s so worth it. This was my third Lucketts market & I’m feeling like a ‘regular’ which is so fun.

I love being part of the Lucketts market ‘family’ & I can’t wait for the next one 😊 If you’ve never been make a note to come in the fall or next spring … especially if you enjoy vintage!

Come with me on an ixöq day in Guatemala!

I just returned to DC today but this ‘snapshot’ was my last day there. We’ll pick up some products and prep them to bring home!.

The artisans who weave our products are in a town - near Xela - that is about 2 hours away from where we stay on Lake Atitlan. I was only in Guate for 5 days this trip, so I had them send me a bag of products instead of my going to meet with them and pick them up. Hopefully I’ll return in June and have more time to spend with them.

When I’m there, there is always a lot of time spent on ‘process’ so I have to budget and account for this. From timing visits around when places are open, to knowing the boat schedule (and weather!), to allowing time to unpack, access, reshape & repack.

Usually our products are shipped directly to us in DC, but when I’m there I like to bring back a bag or two.

A lot goes into getting our products to you but these visits to Guatemala are one of my favorite things!

What a remarkably fun market day . The sun was out. The music & food were great. The wine was flowing.

I love markets in new areas and introducing ixöq & our work to new people, and yesterday was no exception.

The vendors were great. The crowd even better. I met such fun folks and loved chatting and helping select that perfect cesta.

It’s so nice to hear ‘These are so cute!’ and see how the colors draw people in. And how they love that they’re woven from recycled plastic.

I managed to capture photos of some of our happy buyers. I love seeing these smiling faces. And loved how they filled them with other goodies purchased throughout the day.

It was a warm and wonderful and fun vibe! And I can’t lie … wine consumption definitely encourages happy shopping. 😁
