Always Unique

Always Unique Always Unique & S'Atoya Designs Always Unique was founded in the summer of 1994 when I attended the
Howard University School of Business Entrepreneur Academy.

In this academy I was partnered with a local business named “Tribe Vibe Urban Renaissance Artists”. It was there that I KNEW what I wanted to do in life. I wanted to be a wearable art artist and own my own boutique, making creations that help make the world more aesthetically pleasing one piece at a time! S'Atoya Designs (jewelry and handbeaded accesories) was born the summer of 2010 when I was pl

aying around with some beads and made what I call my Mix'D necklace and wore it to a cookout. EVERYONE loved it and I wound up making many more. Word of mouth is a beautiful thing, and that's why I always try to put out the best product possible. By Supporting me you're helping make my dream become a reality! So, I humbly thank you in advance.

Y’all knew it was coming, so here it is . . . The details post.

The Ploughman’s side had Chai Caramel mini Bundt cakes, Pumpkin Spice mini Bundt cakes, Blackberry cupcakes, Vanilla Bean Cupcakes, Chocolate Cupcakes, Strawberry Cupcakes, Chocolate Mousse Dirt Cups with mini can’t pumpkins on top served in terracotta pots with metal gold shovel spoons, and cake pops shaped like vegetables served on gold forks.

The Ploughman meets the Fisherman had Sea Salt air popped popcorn, Crabby Caramel popcorn, Sea Salt Caramel Lindt Lindors, Dark Chocolate Lindt Lindors, and White Chocolate Lindt Lindors.

The Fisherman’s side had Ombré “Sea” Cheesecake shooters, Blueberry Mousse shooters - both served in clear boats and with a wooden paddle spoon, Buoy cakepops, Lemon cupcakes, Blueberry Cupcakes, Ginger Cupcakes, and Pearls on the Half Shell made by me with oyster shells and Lindt’s Cheesecake & White Chocolate Lindors.

The Ploughman & Fisherman image hanging from the backdrop is actually a mashup of two of Vincent Vangogh’s paintings entitled “Enclosed Field with Ploughman” & “Fishing In The Spring”

Of course the Maryland flag and Prince George’s County Flags had to be present. Along with my beloved Soca Wine - after all our winery is in Prince George’s County (Brandywine to be exact)

And last but not least, MY AWESOME, DYNAMIC, BEAUTIFUL TEAM!
baked 120 of the most delectable cupcakes that keep getting rave reviews. I’m still getting feedback!

did her BIG ONE with her veggie & buoy cakepops. But it was those dessert shooters that stole the show!

should be arrested! Those mini Bundt cakes had everyone in a chokehold!

aka my Bew! You always come through and make things happen and I appreciate you for putting up with my crazy! I ❤️U!

Late post but just know when my brother, Sean Fleming, called and asked what I had in my “inventory” that could add to the elegance of the night for Social Lodge No. 1’s Bicentennial Ball, I had to show up for him. The room didn’t require much but the candelabras set it off. So thanks “Dinker” for always thinking of me & my small black business. It was truly an honor.

“What’s in the bag?” That’s the question I’ve been asked all day. So, here’s what’s in the bag.:

Of course I had to use my favorite chocolates / Lindors. There was (1) Fudge Swirl, (1) 70% Extra Dark, & (1) of the New Dark Mint Lindor Truffles. (a staple)

A black & white homemade cookie (addictive)

A laminated 10 Hustler’s Rules card (Clutch!)

& an Always Unique Experience business card - I mean it was a networking event (Book Me!)

So there you have it, that’s what was in the bag. And everyone at Fāmes’ Dave’s Hustlers Haven Wine N Dine event got one. The reviews are the cookies were a HIT & the cards were much appreciated.

I know I’ve been away for a minute, but I’m back now like I never left. And L👀KIE L👀KIE, what I’ve come back with . . .

This past weekend I had the honor of setting up a slumber party for a beautiful and very humble 13 year old young lady. Her mother, reached out to me thanks to a referral from my niece, . She tasked me with creating a volleyball and Starbucks themed slumber party for 10 girls. So, I called upon my newest partner in design, Brittanii, , and my dessert genius/my design twin, Britt, , to help me pull everything together. The end result was exactly what the new teenager wanted and more than what her parents expected. To see the joy on their faces made my heart smile and reassured me that THIS is why I do what I do.

I told y’all this post was coming. DETAILS MATTER! So, here are the details from ‘s 50th Birthday Celebration.

* I took a vintage sewing box & transformed it with the help of paint into a multi-dimensional “Tiffany” inspired jewelry box that I filled with goodies. Tied it with a white satin ribbon hung a custom name tag with a pearl loop.

* Popcorn HAD to be present because it is the Birthday girl’s all time favorite snack. So, I hand scooped gourmet sea salt popcorn into custom labeled bags to add an unexpected element to this Dessert Experience.

* I created miniature Vicious & Co champagne bottles filled with Hershey Kisses.

* I custom painted a gum ball machine turning it a beautiful glossy black and then filled it with silver sequins, fairy lights, loose acrylic diamonds & a genuine Tiffany & Co. box.

* The Cookies. My Gourmet Cookie Baker made two classic cookies - Snickerdoodle and Ginger Lemon Crinkle. But baby, that third cookie she showed out on! She created a Cookie-Lovers Cookie in Tiffany Blue.

* Of course the signature Welcome Guest card had to be present at this milestone event. I took it all the way back to 1974 and included a Thank You message from the Birthday Girl to her guests on the back.

* Custom Vicious & Co. bag centerpieces, complimented with pearls, cateye sunglasses & fresh florals by

* They were a hit with at the PGCDCC’s Ploughman & Fisherman Brunch last year, and have since become a staple in The Always Unique Experience’s sophisticated Dessert Experiences. So, they HAD to make an appearance for Vicious & Co. adorned with custom cigar bands in celebration of the occasion.

* Ms. showed out with these cupcakes. Piña Colada, Classic Vanilla, & Red Velvet were the flavors of choice. And were ALL A HIT!!!

* The balloons were the PERFECT addition to this event and brought EVERYTHING together. Thank you for adding such elegance to this event with your artistry.

It’s been a long time coming but this weekend we celebrated my daughter’s achievement for graduating college. She earned her degree in Fashion Merchandising & Design from Albright College, and I couldn’t be any prouder of her. She attended college during a time of uncertainty for many of us. See, her Freshman year was in 2020 during the Covid-19 Pandemic. She pushed through and achieved exactly what she set out to do. So it was definitely a cause for celebration.

Food was catered by my WonderTwin, Chef Shavez of . Cake was by my CC, Teinisha of . Degree RKTs & Chocolate covered pretzel sticks were created by my sis, Britt of . Craft Cocktails were specially fresh pressed and curated by my A1, Ericka of . Decorative cookies by . And of course all of the decor was set up by me, The proud Madre of .

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate my daughter this weekend. We love and appreciate you so much.

Special THANK YOU to for all of your help and assistance. You, my dear are a GOD SEND!!! 🫶🏾♥️

Because life has been lifin’ I totally forgot to post this gift that I made for Alan & Amy Meltzer and their family. I made it because they have and continue to do great things on American University’s campus, and I wanted them to know they are appreciated. Their philanthropic commitment to ensure that the students at the university thrive is awe-inspiring. This box & silver frame were custo made to commemorate the groundbreaking of the new Alan & Amy Meltzer Center for Athletic Performance. ❤️🤍💙

Flashback Friday! Allow me to show you my humble beginnings. I look at this picture and I well up with tears because my friend entrusted me to make her an Old Skool sweets table. And although I see room for improvement and plenty of things I could’ve done better, I’m satisfied in knowing that I put 100% effort, creativity, and myself into this table. See, no matter what stage I am in with my creativity, I always give it my ALL! Thank you TayDay for believing in me and supporting me.

Now that all the mushy stuff is out of the way, when you gonna holla at me so I can give you 100% of what I am and what I can do now? 🤔

After my recap post yesterday some asked, “What was your favorite event you did last year?” That is a very unfair wuestion, as I pour a little bit of myself into every event. However, there were a few that had very personal meanings to me; So I am highlighting 13 of them, one partnership, and one major accomplishment I achieved last year.

So please allow me to narrate each pic as you scroll

1.) I celebrated a 95th Birthday & a 100th Birthday and amazingly they were siblings. Thank you 🫶🏾🩵

2.) I got to do two kids parties last year and both of them were boys who had very specific themes - Melodias & Sonic. Thank you & 🫶🏾🩵

3.) I actually WOWED Governor Wes Moore with my Dessert Experience at The Democratic Central Committee’s Annual Ploughman & Fisherman Brunch. Thank you 🫶🏾🩵

4.) I had the honor to set up a Dessert Experience & gift the living legend, a pair of handpainted pointe shoes. Thank you 🫶🏾🩵

5.) I elevated my SWAG Game and partnered with to set my SWAG apart.

6.) I experienced a full circle moment when I celebrated son, Tylan’s 21st Birthday as I was the one that did his baby shower when his mom was pregnant with him. Thank you Nickey 🫶🏾🩵

7.) I celebrated two 75th Birthdays of moms. This meant a lot because I never got to celebrate my mom’s 75th Birthday. 🥺 Thank you & Bronté. 🫶🏾🩵

8.) I was honored with the opportunity to assist with the funeral and décor of the repast of my Bestfriend of 35 years. Another full circle moment, I did the décor for her daughter’s 13th Birthday. I was 13 when I met her mom. 🥲🙏🏾🫶🏾🩵

9.) The dynamic power couple themselves, & pulling Suprise Birthday Celebrations for each other. Malik, you KNOW you’re my GURL & I’m so glad that you’ve met YOUR MAN! I can’t wait to see what THIS year has in store for y’all! 🫶🏾🩵

10.) I applied, was accepted, and completed the Mayor’s 202Creates Summer Residency Program. Thank you & 🫶🏾🩵

When you have friends that support any and everything you do, they don’t hesitate when you call. So I called the Uber talented, Olu and told him I didn’t think my phone could do this set up justice. He rearranged his shooting schedule and showed up. As you can see, he showed out too. I’m extremely grateful for my friend! Thanks Olu, you truly captured all of the details & beauty of my Dessert Experience for The Prince George’s County Democratic Central Committee’s Annual Ploughman & Fisherman Brunch. And as you can tell by look on the Governor’s face in the last picture, it truly was an Always Unique Experience.

38 desserts on one display. Twenty-Seven to represent each municipality of Prince George’s County (in the form of either a cookie, cupcake, Lindt Lindor, or dessert shooter); Bowie State Butch The Bulldog’s Brownies; FedEx Field’s Field Goals Washington Commanders Buttermints; The Capital Wheel’s Kisses & Rides - Hershey Milk Chocolate Kisses and Milk Chocolate w/Almond Kisses; NASA Goddard Space Flight Center - Banana Créme Cotton Candy, Blueberries & Cream Cotton Candy, Blue Raspberry Moonrock Lollipops and Sugar Cane Moonrock Lollipops; University of Maryland (College Park) Testudo’s Turtle Pretzels; Prince George’s County Equestrian Center & Show Place Arena - Blue Ribbon Candy Apples; and of course Governor Wes Moore’s Chocolate Caramel Ci**rs. There was something for everyone. 😁🧁🍬🍪🍎

**rs

EVERYTHING on the table was about Gorgeous Prince George’s County including the flower arrangements and daffodil napkins - the Daffodil is Prince George’s County’s official flower.
