The legendary Colombian ensemble Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto announces the release of their new live album En Vivo Desde Le Guess Who?, recorded during their historic performance at the internationally acclaimed Le Guess Who? festival in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Captured before an enthusiastic European audience, the album showcases the communal spirit, ancestral energy, and hypnotic rhythms of gaita and cumbia music from Colombia’s Montes de María region. The recording documents a powerful moment of cultural exchange, where traditional Caribbean sounds resonated far from their origins while maintaining their deep-rooted authenticity.
The repertoire features classic songs that have defined generations of Colombian traditional music, including “La Maestranza,” “Candelaria,” and “Amores con la Gaita.” These revered pieces—considered cultural treasures of Colombia—take on renewed vitality in this live performance.
The album also includes beloved repertoire such as “Palito e’ Coco,” “Orgullo Colombiano,” “Tal Vez Tú,” “La Ceiba,” and “El Camino del Indio,” each delivered with the powerful call-and-response vocals, driving percussion, and haunting gaita flutes that define the group’s signature sound.
With more than seven decades of history, Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto are widely recognized as a Living Cultural Heritage of Colombia and one of the most influential traditional music ensembles in the world.
