Washington, D.C. has long been a city rooted in the fight for racial equality. A two-block section of street, Black Lives Matter Plaza adds to the long list of sites throughout the city. This lapel pin and magnet are inspired by the street sign marking this historic site. The jigsaw puzzle features 18 murals showcased in the exhibition, “Murals That Matter: Activism Through Public Art,” featuring murals that were displayed during the social justice protests in the nation’s capital during the summer of 2020. The puzzle preserves the art created and stands as a visual reminder of the ongoing conversation about equality and justice and the “time for change.”
