Hi everyone!! I miss each of you so very much. Over the seven years Jeremy and I had the store we made some amazing, life long friends and I just wanted to jump on here and give you all a bit of a life update. Since we closed the store I realized how much I missed family owned, small businesses. I took a job at one of Warsaw’s longest standing small businesses and it’s been absolutely amazing!! I can’t track you all down to say hello in person so wanted you to know where to find me so if you are ever out and about please stop in for a WPR reunion! 🙂 Reinholt’s Furniture is where Im at! Don’t worry, I don’t work on commission so this isn’t a sales post. 🤣 I just know the value of family owned small businesses and want to bring my WPR family with me. 🙂 I have ran into many of you over the last few months and many have asked about the kids, they are all healthy and happy. If you ever came in to the store you saw one of the four girls running around, playing a game or chances are they even checked you out at the register a time or two. They gained MANY life lessons there and were blessed by many of you. I hope you are all doing well and hope to run into you in the community at some point. Happy Sunday!

Late last week we posted about our friend in need. He has been made whole by the father himself and is no longer suffering. While we will miss him, whole heartily, we find comfort in knowing he is no longer sick or in pain. Matt was a long time friend of Jeremys. He would often stop in at the store at just the right time to help lift something heavy or help solve a problem when we were stumped on something. Many times he’d just stop In because he had nothing else going on and just wanted to see his buddy. Him and Jeremy would laugh together and ALWAYS find a project to work on. One of my best Matt memories is when we were moving to the old Western store and we were backing a trailer into the building. There were metal support beams that just seemed to be in the way. Most people would pull forward and try backing up again but Matt yelled “hold on a sec” ran up there and LIFTED the very full trailer and just moved it so we could fit. He always had a smile and always had words of wisdom. He will be greatly missed by all but especially his wife and children. Matt was only 36 years old and leaves behind 3 children. Please help out by going to the go fund me in my previous post if you can. His wife, Stacy, needs all the prayers in the world right now.

I haven’t posted anything here since we closed but I needed to reach as many people as I can. Many of you that were regular shoppers know this guy. Matt is a family friend and has been around the store since we opened. He was our muscle! This man knows how to fix anything and is Jeremys “bestie”.. his family really needs some help. He’s been sick for over a month and this week he was put on a ventilator and ECMO. He is the main source of income for his wife and children and they don’t need the financial stress on top of what they are already going through. Please PLEASE help if you can.

This is one of the hardest post for us to make but it’s time to be transparent and honest. We have had an absolutely incredible run at the store over the last six and a half years. With that said the time has come to start our next journey and we will be closing Why Pay Retail. It’s not a surprise to anyone that the economy has been tough, and the weight of the business on our shoulders has been a heavy one to carry. We have met some of the most amazing people here over the years and I know I’ll carry those friendships on forever!

So as of now we are filling the store with our overstock from the warehouse. We will be starting at 30% off store wide and will be moving on from there. Once the inventory portion is gone we will start liquidating the fixtures and many other store related items.

Thank you all again for an absolutely incredible run. Even with the stress I wouldn’t change a thing!

We will have normal hours tomorrow with the sale being 30% off.

Do you have kids Halloween costumes laying around?! We have had many come in asking for them and we only have a few left. We will pay you CASH for the them! We will only be taking them in for a short time as Halloween is creeping up. We ask that they are smoke, stain and hole free and in good condition. 🎃

If you need newborn to 24 month clothing we ARE THE PLACE TO BE TOMORROW!! We took in a few of the best loads so far today and I couldn’t be happier with the deals we can pass on. We also have been receiving 2T-7 clothing and we are starting to get that out as well. See y’all tomorrow at 10! 🙂

We will be open at 10 tomorrow! We have so so many clothing items in newborn to 24 months ready to go! I took pictures of just a few. Starting tomorrow we will be taking in size 2T-6/7 to look at. Please ready previous post for details. 🙂

I can NOT believe the amount of amazing clothing we have taken in this last week and the amount that’s already SOLD! Thank you! The economy has been tough on everyone but especially parents of young kids and small businesses owners. I feel like this is a huge way to benefit both! I’m working on getting out the last of the clothing we took in Saturday and I’ll post some pictures tomorrow. So far it’s newborn to 24 months. Starting Tuesday I’ll be accepting 2T to 6/7 clothing. If you plan on bringing things in to be looked over please read the following. 🙂
*items must be smoke free
*stain and hole free
* no undergarments
*must be in season (fall and winter)
* shoes and boots will be looked at but must have minimal wear
*must be dropped off in totes with lids (no bags) and name and contact information needs to be on each tote.
*we ask that you limit it to two totes per drop off
