Summer writing days are sneaking up on us! Walk-in Wednesdays begin June 10 and run every other week. Writers gather at 6:30 and write in community for 45 minutes before breaking into critique groups by genre. These sessions are friendly and free with no signup necessary. Join us at the bookshop weekday mornings during the first week of June as we write our way toward 1,000 words each day. The 1,000 Word Challenge is free and open to all genres and writing levels. There’s no sign up, so just pop in!

Haven’t posted much lately because of the momentous occasion of this one’s graduation from High School. He’s started his own business through our farm and continues to work long hours at other farms in the area. He’s a hard worker, a deep, kind soul, and we are beyond proud of the obstacles he’s overcome. You can find his produce and soon to be found at The Open Book. Weekly deliveries and occasional guest vendor spots at also coming soon.
Stay true to your heart, keep your eyes on that which is kind, and go forward to live your dreams. We love you

The Phantom Tollbooth by Norman Juster was the perfect finale to our Parent/Child Classics book club series. We plucked words from Dictionopolis, numbers from Digitopolous, and saved Rhyme and Reason with nonsense limericks. We laughed so hard at the silly sentences we made including the masterpiece in the image. This book club will return in September with another year of bookish fun for parents and their kiddos.

Books + Exercise + Friends = a perfect start to a Saturday morning. Cheers to our audio book walkers and The Traveling Shepard for the free ice teas! We had a great walk, shared a bit about the books we were listening to, and enjoyed the peacefulness of the Warrenton Greenway. Join us every Saturday at 9am. We meet on the lower level of the Warrenton Farmers Market and set out by 9:10/9:15.
