If your helmet is five years old or older it's best to replace it with a new one. UV light and enviromental factors like ozone, sweat and heat can degrade helmets over time. This can cause the polycarbonate shell to become brittle and the inner EPS foam to lose the impact absorbing effectiveness. It's the least expensive insurance you can buy for your head.
