Get ready to trade the screen for the back roads and discover the extraordinary stories hidden just over the next hill. The Western Iowa Rural Passport program is thrilled to announce its return for the 2026 season, inviting residents and visitors alike to embark on a summer journey through 16 quaint small towns and over 50 local shops, restaurants, attractions, and experiences. The program officially kicks off today, May 22nd, 2026, and runs through Labor Day weekend.
This year, the program is making it easier than ever for travelers to act as intentional explorers. We are inviting everyone to use their passport as a "Summer Compass"—a master key to unlocking the local charm, unique makers, and resilient communities that make Western Iowa a vibrant destination.
We’ve reimagined the passport experience for 2026 to focus on simplicity and connection. Whether you are hunting for the perfect vintage find, stopping for a fresh iced brew, or taking the scenic route through the Loess Hills, your passport guides you along breathtaking regional trails and right into the heart of our rural Main Streets.
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞:
1. Pick Up: Grab your 2026 passport booklet at any participating business.
2. Wander: Let curiosity be your guide as you navigate 12 small towns and 43 local shops, restaurants, and other hidden gems.
3. Every Stamp Counts. Think of your passport as a collection of moments. Each stamp represents a local business supported, a new flavor savored, or a scenic route discovered. Every single stamp you earn increases your chances of winning one of our curated prizes.

Walnut Antique Show occurs right in front of the Market Village! Come join us and pick up a cold drink and snack from the Vending Shed while you shop!

A new Ai smart cooler has joined the public vending machine lobby recently that will enhance our customer‘s experience. Customers can find chilled Snickers, Kit Kat, Reeses candy bars, 24 oz soda pop bottles, large dill pickles, 1919 Root beer, etc. Just tap your credit card, grab, and go in 60 seconds. Stop by and enjoy 60 assorted snack items and 50 assorted cold beverages, open seven days a week, 7:30 am to 10:00 pm.
