I worked on some special pieces for Nikkei Matsuri this Sunday. Debuting for the first time are hand carved Celadon pieces. It has taken over a year to work through this collection idea and I am finally ready to show this little collection. I will also have more specialized planters including a few self watering planters.

I recently returned to corporate life (part-time) and have not been as active with my ceramics and crafts. I am scaling back the number of shows I do this year but it does not mean I have not been working on special items.

And that’s a wrap for 2025! Thanks to everyone who came out in the cold to support small businesses in Walnut Creek! It was my last show of the year and my Etsy shops are now on vacation mode. I will try to post some new listings in the new year but until then we will be taking some time off to be with friends and family during the holidays. Whatever you have planned, we wish you a safe and healthy end of the year. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Last Minute Push: You may not know that I started out in design in knitwear design and this week, I went back to my origins to knit cashmere fingerless gloves on my 7gg Studio hand flat knitting machine for Gifty this weekend.

Pictured are gloves getting blocked and then labeled on the living room floor. (Another reason we don’t have people over.)

Newest underglaze pattern inspired by a recent trip to NYC. The meandering path along the fixed rail on the Highline became the pattern. A window artwork influenced the colors. I originally wanted a balance of cool and warm colors but the blues burned off.

As new work is getting fired , I have a fair amount of sanding, wiring, hanging rope, pricing, and the oh-so-fun data entry to do because I have three more shows the rest of the year.
