Hello all, I’m Mads, the new Creative Technologies Librarian in the Collaboratory! You might recognize me from leading art workshops at another Connecticut makerspace. I’ll be continuing that work here so keep an eye out for future program lotteries if you’re interested in learning printmaking, book arts, and more! I’m so grateful to work at the intersection of art and technology full-time through my role in the Collaboratory, and to be a part of a library that fosters curiosity and creativity. It’s also been incredible to join the team in time to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the Collaboratory.
I am an artist and educator originally from Brooklyn, NY. I received a Master of Library and Information Science from the School of Information at Kent State University, and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking with a minor in Art History from the Hartford Art School at University of Hartford. I am an adjunct professor of arts and humanities at Connecticut State Community College, an alumni member of the Five Points artist launchpad in Torrington, and an affiliate member of the Asian and Pacific Islander Librarian Association. Outside of libraries and makerspaces, I enjoy crafting, reading comics, and going to shows.
