During metal detecting excursions in the vicinity of my home in Lafayette, Louisiana, I uncovered several remarkable items. A Union Officer's coat button merits particular mention. This button was situated roughly a foot beneath the surface adjacent to a 250-year-old Pecan tree. Other discoveries were made in the nearby area but on different lots.

Just making a cool workbench or picture light from this old battery charger that was put out in the trash. Respect the items that have seen it all. Give them new life.

Picked up a super rare Airplane fan, made in Dallas Texas. This item Will be restored and brought back to its glory days. Picked in Denham Springs, Louisiana. I believe the date of manufacturing was the mid to late 40"s.

Found at an estate sale in Baton Rouge, LA. Sometimes the ones that have a story and show some years of age and character are the best. A little love and she is purring again. The clock was updated a long time ago, someone thought she was worth saving many years ago and so do I today.

To explore is something I love. Here is a image of Wesson, Mississippi when horse and wagon was around, and drinking from the circle water hole in the center of town. Here also is that area over a hundred years later.i took the photos yesterday. The circle water hole now has a bell that sits in it. How cool that Wesson was smart enough to save it's history. Get out and learn your areas and educate yourself on the history of these small towns. You may never know what has been right in your area.
