Day three in Cody was another good one. We spent the bulk of the day back at the museum, mostly in the Fi****ms wing. So much to look at! The museum owns a lot of singularly produced prototypes, things we’d never seen. The staff was very knowledgeable and willing to go to their research library (wish we could have gone in there!) to get answers to questions. They own a huge amount of fi****ms and only a portion are on display at any time. It’s definitely a multi-day trip.

Later, we visited the “Dug Up Gun Museum” (exactly what it sounds like) in downtown Cody.

Day two in Cody is in the books! Buffalo Bill Center of the West is 5 museums. Yesterday we did the Buffalo Bill Museum and the Natural History Museum, and had a VIP tour. A museum docent and two college interns took the tree of us through one hour at the Buffalo Bill Museum and then one hour at the (gasp) Cody Fi****ms Museum.

A super enthusiastic young man showed us some high points then they took us to a backstage room where he presented a case of rare fi****ms and we could choose which ones to haul out, examine, and discuss at length. Photo attached: can you you identify any of them??

Next we went to downtown Cody to watch the nightly “shootout” in front of the Irma Hotel. Completely non-based in reality but the actors and crowd had a great time.

Then it was off to the Cody Stampede Rodeo! We ended up using the season box seats belonging to the 2 Mules Chuckwagon folks we met the prior night, sitting right behind the chutes. We had a great time.

It’s Day 3 and we are headed back to the museum to look at guns till our eyes fall out. It is a huge, beautiful museum and gun library.

In Billings, MT we had a fantastic lunch date with Emily Jane from Sports South. Sports South is one of Liberty Tree Arms primary suppliers and EJ is our account manager. EJ takes great care of us and it was a pleasure to meet in person. We hope to connect in her home base of Shreveport LA before long!

Day one: We visited Old Town Cody, an outdoors museum of sorts that has a lot of original old west cabins and buildings. Most of them were relocated to this spot. The cabins were filled with antiques, lots to look at. Tons of old wagons of all descriptions and in all conditions.

Then we hopped over to go to dinner at a chuckwagon cookout on the grounds of the Buffalo Bill Museum. This couple has a “certified” , unrestored chuckwagon. They do competitions and cooking shows, and last year they were featured on one of Guy Fieries (spelling) shows. They cooked us steak, biscuits, beans, and peach cobbler. It was delicious and very interesting!
