Managed to snag some pictures of the Thunderbirds as I was heading home from work. I’m super proud of how these came out, especially with how wildly unprepared for how quick they would be coming in to land. ✈️💙❤️🤍

Morning glory:

The evening leading up to this sunrise was eventful to say the least. I drove all the way down from Leadville, arrived at the Great Sand Dunes before the visitor center closed. It was cloudy and windy but still a neat experience. I drove into the park to see the sights, which were cool but wow… they’re big sand dunes. Just… big sand dunes. My campsite that evening was a tiny camper that hardly fit my bed. The wind was blowing excessively, to the point where I was worried my camper would blow over. I had no service in the camper, but if I opened my door then I was fine! My whole plan for the Great Sand Dunes was to take advantage of the night sky and astrophotography. Which was imposssible due to the impending storm and extreme cloud cover. I woke up at sunrise the next morning, snapped a couple pictures of the bright sky and the few stars remanining before I started my trip back into the park. Though I will admit, the morning was gorgeous with the sun peaking over the mountains and kissing the rock faces with different colors. I think I’ve been there done that with the park, haha.
