Piggy is a heartwarming book about a beloved stuffed pig named Piggy, his human companion, and their friendship. Piggy and his human have been inseparable since his human was a baby. As best friends, they do everything together: from sleeping to eating to playing. But as the years go by, and many washing machine baths later, Piggy goes from a plump, perky, and pink plush toy to a well-beloved, worn-in treasure.

Ann Hood is the author of the bestselling novels The Book That Matters Most, The Obituary Writer, Somewhere Off the Coast of Maine, The Red Thread, and The Knitting Circle, as well as the memoir Comfort: A Journey Through Grief, a New York Times Editor's Choice and an Entertainment Weekly top ten nonfiction book. Now available in hardcover..."Empire of Ink: The Printers, Rogues, and Radicals Who Invented the American Newspaper" by Alex Wright!

A sweeping history of America’s first media revolution: the rise of the newspaper, and the transformation of a fledgling republic into the world’s first information superpower.

“Takes us beyond the familiar New York papers and editors to a whole continent bursting with the thirst for news. A wonderful read.” —Andrew Pettegree, coauthor of The Library

No society had ever generated so much ink and paper in so little time. Between the Revolutionary War and the dawn of the twentieth century, the number of American newspapers increased five hundredfold. In Empire of Ink, Alex Wright tells the story of how an unruly young democracy found its voice—shaped by the interplay of new technologies, bold public policies, and a distinctly American zeal for free expression that unleashed the greatest outpouring of print the world had ever seen.

It was a wild, boisterous time—populated by gunslinging editors, tramp printers, zealous reformers, brilliant inventors, and literal snake-oil salesmen. Together, they transformed journalism, built a new industry, and helped forge the nation’s character. By century’s end, this freewheeling press had begun to give way to news syndicates, wire services, and corporate interests. Wealthy media barons seized on new technologies and economies of scale to consolidate power—shaping the mass media that would define the twentieth century.

Vividly bringing a pivotal chapter in American history to life, Empire of Ink reveals how the nation’s age-old struggles over truth, technology, and power continue to echo into today’s digital age.

Now available in hardcover..."Kingdom of Waves: Kingdom of Waves duology #1" by Melissa de la Cruz!

The Gilded Wolves meets A Magic Steeped in Poison in the first of a new pulse-pounding YA fantasy duology about two thieves who go after the same mythical treasure, from #1 New York Times-bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz.

Once upon a time, there was a shining kingdom floating on the sea . . .

The kingdom of Ophir was one of the most powerful and beautiful places in the world. But after an invasion by the land of Lacon, it was lost to the waves. Now, the Ophir live as second-class citizens beneath Lacon’s golden palaces.

When two bands of Ophir thieves—one led by Eban Sadreal and the other by Gineth Strong—go after the same treasure, a priceless relic, their worlds and hearts suddenly collide. For the relic releases an ancient magic that could restore the legacy of Ophir—a magic that could change the course of Eban and Gin’s lives forever.

With impossibly high stakes and charming will-they-won’t-they romance, this heist fantasy is perfect for fans of Six of Crows and A Tempest of Tea.

Now available in hardcover..."Choke Point" by Brad Thor!

A devastating series of bombings tears through Bangkok. Scores of American citizens are dead. The attacks send shock waves around the world.

As global assistance pours into Thailand—including the FBI’s famed Evidence Response Team—the president of the United States quietly prepares a plan B: Scot Harvath, America’s top spy, trained to operate outside the law and probe the dark corners others can’t…or won’t.

But the bomber Harvath is pursuing isn’t a terrorist. He’s something far more dangerous—one of ours.

Meanwhile, in Washington, a former United States Marine is being hunted—and he has no idea why. Desperate for answers, he turns to the one person he still trusts—his ex-fiancée, a rising star in the White House. The problem is, she isn’t sure she can trust him.

As Harvath closes in on the bomber, a devastating truth begins to emerge. China has quietly deployed its most elite intelligence unit to Thailand. Their objective: to ignite chaos, trigger a military coup, and seize control of a narrow but critical piece of land, one that could give Beijing a decisive advantage.

If the plan succeeds, Beijing will secure a key gateway between two oceans, eroding American naval dominance and tipping the balance in any war between the world’s great powers.

China will control the ultimate geopolitical choke point.

Looking for a great new read in paperback?

Here's Sue's review of "Identity" by Nora Roberts:

A romantic thriller about a very clever con man who steals his victims' identities and all of their money and financial info before killing them. Morgan Albright is the only one to get away, but that doesn't mean she is safe. Forced to move back to Vermont and in with her mom and grandmother, she must start all over again while every day fearing she will be found and her family put at risk. This book sucked me in because I could really see it all happening in real life, which it does unfortunately!
