Dear Friends,
After much soul searching, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s International Boutique. We explored multiple options for holding the sale in a way that would keep people safe, but with the increase of Covid 19 in our Vermont, we are not willing to put anyone’s health at risk. We also had to acknowledge with all that’s going on, we don’t have the resources or bandwidth to take it online.
Needless to say, this is very disappointing to all of us who work on the sale each year, and we know it is disappointing to all of you who have so generously supported the Boutique these past 36 years.
Please know we did not take this decision lightly. Besides looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new at the sale, AMURTEL depends on the proceeds from the International Boutique to support programs for women and children here in the States and around the world. Not holding the Boutique this year will increase the burden to raise funds to keep these projects going. The pandemic has had a painful impact on many of our programs, and in many places we have had to add feeding programs for communities facing increased hunger.
If you would like to support this work, please consider making a tax deductible donation to AMURTEL, either through our website at www.amurtel.org, or with a check to AMURTEL, PO Box 232, Warren, VT 05674.
Or perhaps you might consider giving a donation as a gift for someone. Just let us know the name and address of the person you would like to honor, and we will send them a card, letting them know of your gift.
We hope next year will bring us all together again for a joyful reunion. Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2021.
