Still haven’t bleached the wood but it’s a wrap until the new year! New hardware to install, and screws for the doors will be necessary, but for now, it’ll do!

The doors have been sanded down, and the old trims removed. I’m still deciding if the wood filler is going to look okay after I lighten the wood. Working to finish this up amongst work & holiday fun with the kids! Hope to have a updated photo showing it finished by the weekend.

Ignore the mess of my mayhem. Here is the painted exterior finish. I used heirloom traditions paint in ABBEY. It’s not the easiest product application, but the finish without priming for tannins is excellent on cherry wood. Cleaning up for today, but tomorrow I’ll be moving onto the doors & drawers! Stay tuned.

Finally! The Vintage curio makeover is going down preholiday. I have a million projects I’ve not had time for with my full time job (that I love), to mentally dig into many overdue projects around the house. Baseboards being a huge project that will likely be next.
Anywho..my company recently created a campaign for mental health awareness. I realized 2 years at home full time, my energy for the creative time I used to indulge in…it’s only been on my Pinterest boards, and I struggled to execute my fixer upper pieces. So today, I’m hoping to get some paint therapy and some time to revisit a passion I’ve put aside raising a family & grinding mortgage closings 8-12 hours a day, this year. Guaranteed Rate raised $5 million dollars to help mental health awareness become a focal point for our country. Today, I want to raise that vibe and give myself a little mental break!

Browsing old photos tonight and I found so many memories in each photo. Most items, I remember who sold them to me, & how excited I’d get merchandising my booth after bringing all my treasures to shoreline Vintage. I met so many people over the years. Creating upcycled furniture, not2shabby vintage/mercantile, and connecting so many people that are still friends, still hunting, still selling, still living their best gypsy lives…it’s one of most amazing things I did with those years. Thank you to all of the people that helped me live my dream for a time. I reflect on this often, and that inner creativity gets reignited. Hoping the fall will provide some time for new projects, to share with you!

It’s been too long since I was able to tackle a piece of furniture and do a complete overhaul. This old handmade beauty has been begging to be stripped for years now. Well, my heat gun arrived this weekend and I’ll be eager to start stripping off the layers of old latex. I’m excited to see what I reveal as I take it down to to bare wood! The inner gypsy has been calling to me to get back to my favorite thing to do. Time to feed my soul and reclaim some me time! Can’t wait to share the process and finished piece.
