I’m planning a major trip across the USA in my VW camper. In order to stay comfortable I need air conditioning and heating. It’s a massive challenge that most people won’t go through but in my pursuit of vintage excellence in these old cars I am going to retrofit an original VW accessory A/C system with an electric compressor and components on a system I will build myself - this will be very welcome when I’m driving in the hot weather. Then as an added heat source for cold camping I’m going to get an original VW BA6 gas heater working for the cabin heat. Finding original rare accessories is not easy, they often arrive broken or missing parts so sometimes you have to buy 2 systems to make 1. I lucked out and found these 2 systems for a bargain price of $60each. Now I have the parts to finish my initial A/C blower project and I’m one step closer to making this a super bus!

Thanks to Lance off Samba for the good deal and shipping them out. Now my buddy Cam doesn’t need to worry about making vents for me on a 3D printer.

I can’t believe where I have gotten while numbers don’t matter as much as the amazing connections and friendships I have made through Instagram. As a shy kid that was once afraid to speak up I found my voice doing vintage Porsches starting 32 years ago! I was once one of the youngest guys in this field, late 1990s - none of the oldtimers gave me the time of day - now having earned my spot as a worldwide Vintage Porsche expert I promise to up my game soon and do even more amazing work into the future. Small rust repair done well. These California cars don’t rust that much but sometimes the water sits on the pan during our couple of rain storms per year and after a lifetime we get pin holes - not cancer but small rust spots. Having a good metal guy on your side saves time, I can do this work myself by my guy Joe does it in 1/3 the time. Next we do a full pan replacement on a different car.

Quick service to keep this survivor 73 911E going for a while longer. It’s nice to see a regularly driven well taken care of early 911. It’s not a show queen but it’s also not an improperly restored car full of gremlins. You could say it’s just right, with 170,000 original miles, same owner since 87 it still drives really well. But you have to keep an eye out for little issues that could get worse - that’s why it’s important to have a guy that knows what to look for - of course easier said than done.

Matching white 356s on the road together. It’s such a rare sight these days but I think the change in scenery makes the general public smile. Who doesn’t like looking at these cars - they are so different from anything else on the road nowadays.

1967 is the best year 912 in my opinion and this particular Slate Grey with Red interior 912 is a super car level 912 I built back in 2018. 155hp dynoed engine, limited slip 5spd, big brakes and recaro sports seats. It’s on BAT with 3hrs to go and it’s at $78k right now. Let’s see what it does and I’ll report back on the final price. I am not affiliated with the seller but I love it when my work gets the recognition it deserves.
