We here at Visalia Vintage & Antiques are often asked by visitors and tourists traveling through if we can recommend a few good dining options in the City of Visalia.

Our replies often direct patrons to charming Downtown Visalia, which offers an excellent and surprisingly vibrant restaurant scene that has earned it a reputation as a regional culinary destination in the Central Valley.

This week we’ve decided to feature one of our favorites, Crawdaddy’s, located at 333 E. Main Street. We love Crawdaddy’s in Downtown Visalia because they deliver a dynamic, New Orleans-style energy combined with high-quality Cajun-Creole cuisine, including premium steaks and seafood, spearheaded by the restaurant’s talented Chef Fernando Gonzales. And we can’t forget the unforgettable atmosphere, live music, dancing, and a full-service bar.

ABC30’s “Dine and Dish,” a popular culinary segment hosted by Dale Yurong, highlighted some of the restaurant’s mouth-watering dishes and other menu options earlier this year, with Crawdaddy’s original owner, Keith Korsgaden. Notably, their Grilled Calamari, Pasta Jambalaya, Blackened Chicken, the Acadian Shrimp Pasta, or, when in season, lightly breaded, slow-cooked, pistachio-encrusted Alaskan halibut served with the restaurant’s famous lemon butter sauce were just a few big winners Korsgaden mentioned.

A patron’s wonderful and memorable experience of Crawdaddy’s never has to stop. In 2025, the restaurant officially launched its signature Crawdaddy’s Cajun Seasoning to the public, taking its long-guarded secret right to your own kitchen. The popular seasoning, which offers a bold, zesty taste of the bayou, is available inside the restaurant and on Amazon. It’s also low in sodium, gluten-free, and MSG-free, making it a solid, healthy choice.
You can’t miss the restaurant’s striking three-story building, its unique multi-floor dining area, full-service bar, and, of course, the delicious food! Crawdaddy’s has become a central hotspot for locals and travelers seeking a lively night out for the last two decades. We highly recommend them!

Jeff & Cordie recently celebrated their first official year at Visalia Vintage and Antiques, where the local married couple operate a space offering a little bit of everything just adjacent to the Mall’s east staircase. The husband and wife had always known that Vintage and Antiques were in their blood since early adulthood, but their decision to take the plunge with us came after a few successful years on eBay.

Many of the items they have acquired or restored are not for themselves but specifically for you. The couple says it's about finding the treasure that someone else will love, and it's exciting to see these treasures sold, and that's the bigger reward. One thing that Jeff & Cordie find fascinating about this business is how far some of these items have possibly traveled. Just in the last month, several items in their booth that were sold were originally found and purchased in Texas, Florida, and Colorado. A primary reason for this is that the couple still have one daughter at home who is now a Senior in High School. She has always been an active athlete in both school and club sports year-round, and her schedule has allowed my husband and me to travel to multiple states and start the thrill of the hunt, says Cordie.

One of the most unique pieces the couple recently sold was a wooden hand chair. It sat in their house for a few weeks, but after the chair made its way to Visalia Vintage & Antiques, it sold instantly, and the customer seemed super happy to take it home. Customers who shop Jeff & Cordie’s booth #2319 will always find a space that's full of hodgepodge. There is Pyrex, Tupperware, Lighting, Clothing, Mid-Century Decor, and items you have probably never seen before.

On a personal level, Cordie loves Industrial Vintage and repurposed items, lighting, and local vintage advertising. And while the husband & wife both gravitate to colors of the 50’s & 60’s, including older cars, Jeff still loves the vintage toys, bikes, and clothing from the 80’s as good memories from being a kid.

We truly love having Jeff & Cordie with us! They are genuinely kind people and are fun to talk to. Before joining us, we considered them friends and loyal customers. This makes their stay even more special. We can't wait for you to step into their booth if you haven't yet.

There’s just something about a great vintage mirror that can completely change a room.

This beautiful Cheval-style floor mirror features a warm wood finish, full-length adjustable mirror, and those fantastic Danish-inspired sculpted base that give it a little Mid-Century character. It’s a functional piece, but the design is what really makes it stand out.
