Cobwebs and Curios is a family owned and operated small business and is proud to be the first oddity shop in Virginia. Initially in 2000, we operated as a humble private collection and online store. We have curated some of the highest end specimens i

n collections all over the world. Beginning i 2013, the “brick and mortar” collection has evolved into a private shop inside the Virginia Beach Antique Mall now open 7 days a week. Happy Friday everyone! We’ve been super busy and haven’t been posting as much as we hoped to start off the new year. We do have a lot of great things headed to the shop today, just in time for the weekend, including this amazing and hard-to-come-by flying fox skeleton.

We’re also stocking lots of new books, tarot cards, tools, , , and other incredible .

This has been a hard one to process, the world is quieter without Nick in it. He was gentle, thoughtful, and generous, with a wealth of knowledge he shared freely and without ego. Through his love of history and oddities, he preserved stories, taught openly, and welcomed others with warmth and sincerity.

Nick was part of our world for many years, first as a supporter and client, and over time as family. Across nearly 15 years, that relationship grew into something far deeper than business. When you met Nick, you didn’t just admire him, you wanted to be part of his world and the warmth he carried with him.

He was as generous with his heart as he was with his knowledge, and his presence made people feel loved, seen and connected. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the stories he protected and the lives he touched.

Rest easy, Nick. You will be loved and missed every day 🖤

To our beautiful, eclectic C&C family, thank you. Thank you for supporting our small business, for showing up, for believing in what we create, and for being exactly who you are. Our shop exists because of you, and we are endlessly grateful.

We hope Santa brought you everything you wished for (and maybe a little something you didn’t know you needed). We also know this past year has been a hard one for so many, filled with challenges, loss, change, and perseverance. As we look ahead, we’re holding hope that 2026 brings healing, growth, joy, and the courage to chase long held dreams.

Today, we hope you’re able to slow down and enjoy time with the people you love .. family, chosen family, friends, and kindred spirits. Because in the end, there is nothing more valuable than the time we give each other.
