Alex at sent me a 70s Mustang bridge pickup for repair. I also told him I’d send him a couple of ideas I had for bridge pickups. The old pickup is fixed (solder joints need to be reflowed) and two new ones are wound. One is what he asked for, an overwound vintage style around7k, the other is what I would use, modern copper overwound to the same spec with an induction plate (just like a Tele - adds more induction to the pickup without needing more winds, which tapers off the highs and causes more compression). Getting this wax potted and sent back up to Venice from here in Naples.

Took a long break from social media. Still winding away, but have been relocated in Southern Italy for almost a year. Wound two smoking hot stacked singles for a future project build (designed to keep up with my ‘84 bridge model). Also upgraded my LP Classic Custom w/ my Murray bridge/‘77 neck combo. Next up is a couple custom wound Mustang bridge pickups for my new friends at 🤘

StingRay w Murray bridge and ‘77 neck into a Afterlife and Dark Father. Running the modern fuzz setting into the preamp/dark setting is killer! Running it all into an early 90s Pro Reverb.

Got to visit while I was in Italy last year. Fantastic experience. I’m happy to know not only do they make amazing instruments, but Fabrizio (owner) and Filippo (manager) are also amazing people. I’m back!…2022 was a hell of a crazy year. Tons of new models and expanding the pickup selection, a 6 month European deployment in support of Ukraine, and now a move from the Hawaii to Virginia. Looking forward to what 2023 has in store.
