Some knew him as Tyrone, some knew as Chism, and some knew him as Bip. However you knew him, IF YOU REALLY KNEW HIM, you knew that he was a hard working man, who looked out for those that looked out for him.
I’ve heard that he’s crazy, and I’ve heard that he’s a loud mouth. I’m not saying that those sentiments were wrong, but to know Chism was to know a man who was genuine.
I got to know him in 2014, when I asked a simple favor… keep a watch out for 10mins while I ran home. He lived next to the shop, and I hoped that he’d keep a look out from his front porch, while I ran to the house. Nope, not Chism. He sat on the front sidewalk of my shop, as if he was guarding Ft. Knox. As I pulled back up, just minutes after leaving, he stood up and waved. He didn’t stick around for a handout, he didn’t sick around for a tip. He had completed the job asked of him, and he was heading home.
Chism was a hard working man, a man that never asked for anything that he didn’t earn. He may not have lived in VR’s biggest house, or driven the most expensive car, but he was a man that you had to respect. He earned every penny of what he had, and took care of it as if were priceless.
I dont respect possession, i respect character, and for that i respected Chism (except for his choice in football teams). Green Bay? Really man, come on!
Rest easy bud. You have left a memory, a legacy around Villa Rica that will last well beyond all of our years here.
Love ya my man.
