That’s a wrap on the 2026 Granite State Bat Company Wood Bat Showdown at Guppy Park — and what a weekend it was. Swing free or die, and you guys absolutely lived it.
Despite the rain, mud, and conditions that felt more like a pig farm than a softball field, this crew showed up and delivered. More importantly, we raised $2,000 for the Dover Men’s Softball League general fund — and that’s what this is really about.
On the field, Daniel Camara’s Blue Balls came out swinging and double-dipped Kristian Theodore’s Green Goblins to take home the championship.
MVPs of the weekend:
* Blue Balls: Marco Santos
* Green Goblins: Paul Adams Jr.
Both guys are now swinging brand new Jefferson Models — earned the hard way.
Now for the real backbone of the weekend:
* Huge thank you to Brian Tutt for stepping in and umpiring — because my knees are currently being held together by hopes, dreams, and whatever cartilage is left.
* Thank you to Mike Laterreur and Kristian Theodore for showing up Sunday and helping get the field playable again. Not glamorous work, but absolutely necessary.
* Shoutout to James Best for handling all the financials, including every last Golden Banana Bat entry — not easy keeping that circus organized.
* Thank you to all the captains who somehow wrangled their squads of absolute misfits and got them on the field and ready to go. That alone deserves an award. Also Joshua M Hartley for stepping up last minute and taking over a team!!!
* And a big one — thank you to Coach and Kristian Theodore for always having my back. Whether it was field work or just listening to me vent when things got chaotic, it doesn’t go unnoticed.
To everyone who came out, battled the elements, supported the league, and embraced the grind — this is what GSBC is all about.
Pictures from Pure Exposure Photography will be out soon.
We’ll run it back soon… bigger, better, and maybe with slightly less mud (no promises). 🪵🔥
