Our business started in 1991 under the name Trek Shack in Norfolk, Virginia. We offer all the major comics, but we wanted to be different and promoted a lot of the independent comics too. In 1992 we also started promoting Sports Cards and Comics Shows in mostly Crown American Malls up and down the East Coast. Which lead to our name change around 1993 to Space Travelers Comics. At which time we clo
sed our storefront locations and just did shows and conventions only. Attending over 10 conventions each year, while promoting over 30+-weekend mall shows each year. In 1997 we had another name change to Space Travelers Enterprise the year our daughter was born. At which point we cut back most of our shows and conventions too. We did add the Virginia State Fair in 2001 through 2004 and continue only doing Shore Leave and FarPoint in Huntsville, Maryland Conventions for a few years. In 2012 we closed Space Travelers Enterprises down place our inventory in storage. In 2013 we started to follow my life’s dream to be a treasure hunter and opened Rocks Into Gems. Here we sell more than just dreams, we help you find rough gems and gold too. We are authorized dealers for some of the BEST mining gear, Garrett Metal Detector, Gold Cube, and GPAA items too. We carry the Authentic Himalayan Salt Lamps and Salt Products. In June of 2015 we opened Sci-fi Paradise at The Factory Antique Mall, Verona, Virginia. Here we are selling from our inventory of over 20 years worth comics and collectibles. We have included items from Rocks Into Gems at this location too. About us personally
Both my wife and I are Veterans of the US Navy. I retired with a little more than 21 years of service and she had 4 years. We are a family run business and as noted above been doing it for a long time. The whole family is certified SCUBA divers, which helps us in looking for that piece of treasure.
