There is something so special about the building that houses The Pendleton. Built in 1901, so many people have walked through her doors over the years, each adding a little more life and history to the old girl.

Today, moms, daughters, and granddaughters gathered inside to shop, paint, craft, and simply enjoy being together. It’s pretty special to see a place with so much history continue to bring people together and create new memories generation after generation.

Here’s to 125 years!

Check out this Vernon Drug Store ad—such a fun find! I’ve always believed The Pendleton transitioned from J.H. Pendleton Drug Store to Vernon Drug Store in 1925… but this piece proves I was wrong! Looks like I’ve got a little more digging to do 🤔

For those who may not know—J.H. Pendleton, along with T.M. Ferguson, originally operated the Vernon Drug Store (located just a few doors south of us where the courtyard is today-picture below). In 1901, Mr. Pendleton built this building, which became J.H. Pendleton Drug Store.

From what I’ve found so far, it was Vernon Drug Store until 1984… but now I’m questioning everything! 😅

History always has a way of surprising us—stay tuned while I keep researching!
