Sometimes I build cars as well as bikes!
This was a pedal car that was rented by tourists down by the beach here. I have a customer who wanted one, but electrified.
This car presented a number of challenges, not t5he least of which was removing several coats of paint and lots of rust.

These originally have only a coaster brake. As I had no intention of building it to be slow, I knew better braking was a priority. I installed dual hydraulic disc brakes up front. This was trickey because wheels with a provision to mount disks in this size don't exist. The car originally had a round steering wheel which leaves no place to mount a brake lever (nor a throttle for that matter). I fabricated a custom steering wheel to do the job.

When designed this car had neutral caster in the front alignment. Acceptable at pedal speeds, but uncontrollable with its new muscle. I had to cut and sleeve the front axle so I could dial in some caster to keep it going straight.

I used a rickshaw motor, which gets it up to over 30Mph. A 45 amp controller and 54.6V, 45 Amp/Hr battery rounds out the package.

With only 1 rear wheel driven it's still a little scary if you mash the throttle from a standstill, but it is lots of fun to drive.
