A little insight on what I mean when the website reads, “steel prep.”

When our steel arrives, it comes in with very sharp edges and covered in cutting oil. I have to wipe all this off, so my husband (Jason) can grind the sharp ends off. Next, we have to wash each piece of steel in a degreaser and let it air dry in the drying room on racks so I can work my super secret magic on them (sorry guys, my design application process will be remaining proprietary for the time being!)

We do this with about 200 pieces of steel at a time - around the amount of plates I can make in a week. By the end of this week, I will have 800 texture plates left to make. I’m trying to squeeze every moment of time I can in for making these so I can be finished by the end of June. So I’m so sorry I’ve been so quiet on here lately! Rest assured that we are still hard at work and very much so looking forward to seeing what you guys do with these! 🥰

We are closing in on the end folks! I’m hoping to be finished by the end of June! I know it’s been a long wait, and I know a lot of you are anxious to get your tools… and I’m anxious to hit up the mountains and fish for a solid week (or two) as soon as I’m finished. But you guys are work the extra work, and I hope you find my work was just as worth the wait 🥰

I cannot thank everyone enough for their patience! And I’m a little *extra* grateful to not have a million “where’s my order?” emails… that SUPER stresses me out because it’s in line, with everyone else who’s waiting 🤣 But we’ve been working constantly (including late nights and weekends) to get them done! I’d really love to officially retire, so don’t worry we are going as fast as we can! 🥰

I know I’ve been quiet on here so in case you weren’t aware, I have been regularly updating my progress on www.oregontrailsilver.com so you can see how far out we are. It seems like this has been helping everyone check in to see about how long it’ll take for their orders to come out. But before anyone asks… I don’t know. Probably another 6-9 weeks before I get everything done, but don’t hold me to that as I still have about 1100 plates to make.

I figured I better touch base on social to make sure you guys don’t feel forgotten, and again - THANK you all for everything! Especially your patience! 🥰

I’m going to make absolutely NO illusions and will be completely transparent (as usual) while I finish up my orders. This is the stack of orders I ended up with. Each purple tab equals 50 pieces of steel. Where those tabs stop is what I just printed off from the last 6 days up to when I shut down last night. Some people ordered one or two plates, others could tile a small bathroom with their orders (which, for the record, I can relate to lol) So, I’m going to be at this for a while…. I will work weekends as always, but I can’t promise I won’t need a day or two every now and then. I am going to be out of the office for a week in May and that’s non-negotiable. But otherwise I’m all yours and your orders have my full attention as long as I have your patience 💕

I will be providing DETAILED updates on the homepage of the website, and if you haven’t signed up for the newsletter, please do. I’ll update you all there.

With two days left to preorder texture plate patterns, please be advised that my lead time is currently out at least a few months for shipping (depending on when you ordered.) But I’m working daily - including weekends - to get our production complete!

I want you all to know how much I appreciate your business over the last ten years of making tools: and more so, the friendships!! You’ve all been SO wonderful and SO patient, and I absolutely LOVE seeing your work using our tools. I’m going to miss being a direct part of that…

If you haven’t signed up for the newsletter at www.oregontrailsilver.com I would recommend you all do so to keep better track of your order updates, as well as keep in touch when I finally get all these beautiful texture plates done and get to start working on tutorials and recommendations again!

Our preorders for the plates are closing in 5 DAYS! Please be aware that we are absolutely SWAMPED with orders - and even working through the weekends, it’ll probably take me a few months to get through them all. Make no mistake, they’re worth the wait… but after 3/31/26 we won’t be taking anymore orders for texture plates ever again. As it stands now, I have my work cut out for me as everyone wants to get their orders in before we close. Please be patient and know I’m always happy to let you know where your order is 💕 I’m not going away, don’t worry 😉

I have tracking numbers going out tomorrow for the orders that are complete and they’ll be getting packed up and heading home Monday! All of my materials are either here or on order, and I’m very excited to get to see what you all create with yours!

It’s almost time to close down our texture plate side of the business - March 31 2026 will be the final day we leave them open for preorder!

Order Updates:

We FINALLY have production in full swing and so far all of my steel has been arriving on time and looking BEAUTIFUL! The first set of orders are on their way home, and the next set is on the bench and will get us through orders placed up to February 14. I want to see those shipped by early next week, and by then my next set of steel should be here. Tracking numbers will be sent out as orders are completed!

You’re welcome to check in on progress at any time, but I try to make sure everyone informed through email and social media so I can focus more of my time on production. However, if you need anything or have any questions let me know!

The online store WILL remain open even after we close down texture plate preorders as we prepare to begin shear production by May. So you can still get ahold of me through the contact form and track your orders as they ship!

3 weeks and 3 days left until we shut down texture plate preorders for good at www.oregontrailsilver.com!

I have orders up to February 6 shipping on Monday after they’ve been cleaned and packed, and a fresh batch of steel came in today that will be completed this coming week - with more on the way! So if you’ve ever wanted an original Oregon Trail Silver Texture Plate, now is the time to get it.

We DO ship internationally, there’s no limit on how many you can get, and if you qualify through Shopify’s financing program you can get a payment plan through the website.

I’ve had a LOT of orders coming in since I announced in January that I was retiring my texture plate preorders. This is only the first 200 plates, up to February 9th. (And these only took so long because I’ve been waiting on steel to get here after my first order came in unusable.) but I get to start etching these tomorrow! I’m hoping to get these out by the end of this week or beginning of the next. It’s going to take some time to get through everything, so I appreciate your patience!

That being said, this really is the last month to order your plates at www.oregontrailsilver.com. Once midnight MST on March 31st hits, I’m closing down the online option to preorder, finishing my orders and closing down that section of our business.
