Vashon Made features arts and crafts created by Vashon Island artists. This is how the acronym "SAW" came about.

SAW-Starving Artist Works opened Spring of 2012 in the small space next to the Hardware Store Restaurant. When the restaurant was an actual, hardware store, that small space was the saw repair and sharpening shop. After one year the shop relocated to the space next to Café Luna, which is where we are still located. SAW represents only Vashon Island artists and craftspeople, currently about 90. Eve

rything is sold on consignment, and much of the work can only be found at SAW. Starving Artist Works is proud to feature a variety of arts and crafts, including, pottery, wood working, fiber arts, jewelry, painting, photography, glass work and mixed media. In April 2024, SAW changed the shop name to "Vashon Made".

June First Friday at Vashon Made, will feature the Brynn Family. Colin, Melissa, Kelly, and Heather (Mom). Colin will be displaying his bud vases done in the Shou Sugi Ban technique. Melissa has her leather, bike tube, and riveted cuff bracelets. Kelly will have her hand formed, and detailed pottery vessels on display. Heather will have her jewelry, beeswax candles, hand stamped leaf design napkin sets, flour sack towels, t-shirts, and onesies, among other various items. Please join us Friday night, 5:30 – 8:00

Fully stocked with Lin’s soaps! Including, some Christmas tree stocking stuffers, bar shampoo and conditioner, and many assorted soaps with yummy scents. Now have women’s long sleeve t-shirts, by Brynn Designs, in addition to men’s. Vashon Made will be open today and tomorrow. Monday11:00-4:30, Tuesday 11:00 until at least 2:00, but maybe later depending traffic.

Annie Brule’ is our featured artist at Vashon Made (aka SAW). Raised on Vashon, Annie is a nature illustrator focusing on plants and creatures native to the Pacific Northwest. Annie’s artwork adorns t-towels, tote and zipper bags, stickers, note cards and fine art prints.
