This design depicts the times when Salmon migrate from the ocean and swim to the upper reaches of rivers where they spawn. Salmon play an integral part in the life of indigenous people of the Paciric Northwest. For many northwest tribes Salmon provides the nutritional value that is needed for a healthy life. Honored and celebrated by all coastal peoples, the salmon serves as a powerful symbol of regeneration, self-sacrifice, and perseverance.

Each year, we look to our tribal citizens to nominate elders (70 years or older) who have dedicated their lives to serving our people and preserving our culture. The Executive Council carefully reviews these nominations and selects two elders to be recognized as honored guests at the Tribal Assembly.

Gunalchéesh, Háw’aa to our 2024 Tribal Host and Hostess for their invaluable contributions, wisdom, and leadership. We celebrate and uplift you!

Preview on new Shotridge Coloring pads!

We had a photo shoot last night for our new coloring pads...Our 6 yr old granddaughter Zeleigh was our beautiful model! She loves to draw and color on her grandfather's designs.
The Shotridge Collection designs will be available soon in coloring pads suitable for holiday gifts and for teachers! They are educational giving the meanings behind the designs and spelling in the Tlingit language.
