Little Bea Imaginings

Little Bea Imaginings Cloth Dolls and Toys. Handmade. One of a kind. Summer had wanted to move to the Northwest for years and Derek's job gave them the opportunity.

Little Bea Imaginings began after Summer and Derek Lindeman packed up a couple of the kids and moved away from Salt Lake City, Utah to Vancouver, Washington. Once there, Summer found that their new house was not as accessible to city life as their house had been in Salt Lake so she needed to find more ways to fill the time at home with her daughter, Little Bea, that didn't include too much travel.

After searching Pinterest and other sites, she found that she could create fun toys for Little Bea out of the things she had on hand. After experimenting with cardboard and other household items, Summer decided to try sewing with scraps of material and old clothes. Her grandmother, Bea Sutton, gave her all of her sewing supplies after a losing battle with macular degeneration. Summer tinkered with a few designs and found that her robots were quite popular with Little Bea's friends. After Grandma Bea passed away in September 2013, Summer used sewing as a sort of therapy and a way to keep her grandmother's memory alive. Using her daughter's imaginative creations and her grandmothers sewing needles, she created Little Bea Imaginings.

I did it! I'm finally finished laying the gravel for my new studio! Other than carrying the bags of gravel from the car to the back yard (Derek helped), I did this all on my own. I dug up the dirt to level the ground and raked and smoothed 42 bags of gravel. The rest will be up to Tuff Shed.

I'm so excited!

I hate that it's way too hot to continue prepping the ground for my new studio. I'm halfway there with the gravel base! Oh well. Home Depot opens at 6am tomorrow so I'll be back at it for a couple hours.

First page of my A6 size, hot press sketchbook nestled into my Etchr Slate. I never know what to draw on the first page so I decided to draw or newly cracked stove. It's really old and needed to be replaced anyway.

Can't believe it only took 3 months to finish this sketchbook. I'll miss it but I'm looking forward to using my new Etchr sketchbooks because they'll fit in my pockets better at work.

I've learned so much about my drawing during this book and I've developed new habits. In so happy to carry them over into a new book and a new journey.

I didn't get to do much sketching until after work yesterday so my daily sketch went from last night and continued to this morning.

First time drawing a face completely with ink - no pencils, no erasing. I'm getting more confident with pens.
