Trying to raise $200 so that I can get some new used all genre inventory before my season starts next month!

I lost my job back in December and haven't been able to find anything so funds have been non-existent for the bookstore.

If you can help, I would appreciate it so much!

A lot happened last month, some within my control and some not. I made the switch to being an all genres book truck and since have purged a lot of my romance only inventory. However, my season doesn't start until February and I haven't been able to find a new job so funds to fill up the truck have been non-existent.

So here's my call for help:

1. I'd like to raise at least $200 to put towards buying more used inventory for the truck as that is still my primary interest for inventory. I have a few places I wanna hit up to go book shopping to fulfill that. If you'd like to donate to that, my venmo is theromanceerabooks.

2. I'd like to get some books donated! So if you have been meaning to purge your stash, I'm now collecting any genre type. DM me and we can figure out how to get them to me!

My goal is to be able to have a decent amount by my first market back as a truck on Feb 7th with the hope of having a full trucks worth of inventory by March 7th pop up event!

Thank you in advance and I can't wait to see you in person again on Feb 7th at my Treat Yo Self market

Treat Yo Self 2026: it’s the best time of the year!

As someone who is an advocate for getting yourself a little treat always and doesn’t believe in love (just kidding, but the holiday doesn’t have to be all about it!), this market is for those of us who love to indulge in Little Treat culture.

Come treat yo self (or buy something for someone for Love Day the following week) on the 7th with us! There will be vendors, good eats and drinks available from and more.

Vendor apps open on the 1st!

Its official! Welcome! (or goodbye if you’re not sticking around, thank you for your support thus far)

Like I said, it’s gonna get worse before it gets better and when I thought about what I wanted to do while it gets worse it was me trying my best to make spaces where other folx don’t have to do it alone and can all try to continue to do what they love so that when it gets better hopefully we’ve all found our spaces and communities.

143 Books and Events is my way of still sharing my love of books and my love for creating those spaces all the while maintaining fun & (hopefully) eventful environments. While I hate how much of a chokehold money has on us, making money is necessary and I hope these events help fund your passions.

My goals are to always try to host in spaces that can benefit from extra support (and are places in general I think more folx in communities should know about!) as well as keeping the entry cost for anyone who wants to vend low. This is something I’ve done before with The Romance Era since I opened and want to continue to do it even though The Romance Era is no more.

Thank you to spaces like who during the SNAP freeze worked tirelessly to provide free meals for their community and are continuing to do amazing work post SNAP freeze. That show of community support despite being a small business themselves with not a lot of resources that larger companies have was very inspiring.

To all of the authors who spoke so openly and honestly about having to pivot their lives because books just weren’t enough anymore, I see you and hear you. It’s always sad, but they spoke about harsh realities currently and were a huge catalyst in my pivot decision. I can’t carry everyone’s books but folx can come out and sell them directly! Indie authors are huge parts of indie bookstores and I know indie bookstores work hard to help keep their books in folx hands and we’d hate to lose their stories all together.

That being said, next week I’ll be opening up the form for the first 143 Event taking place Feb 7th at in Vancouver WA! So if you’re interested in vending that day at one of VanWa’s newest taprooms the keep tabs!
