We have been serving book-lovers and auto enthusiasts for 47 years. We’ve always put our priority where our hearts are: the best book selection we can offer and the most knowledgeable, dedicated staff. Our staff are all passionate readers-- the diversity of our preferences can be seen with our "staff pick" signs. We work hard to make your book buying experience easy, and treat your books with the

care we would treat our own. If you were to visit our physical store, you’d find us to be pretty low key. Plain pine bookcases, old rugs, old chairs and a small couch in the children’s area. Blank vertical surfaces are covered with old ads, sayings, book lists and displayed books. We are unable to list our extensive selection of used paperbacks, some of the automotive items and hardbacks on-line, because our inventory changes daily. We will be happy to check our shelves if you don’t see what you seek. We hope you will bookmark our sites Vintage-Books.net and Vintage-Books.com, and come back often.

ALL THAT GLIMMERS, our featured selection for Children's Picture Book of the Week, holds the simple but sweet message that little sparks of hope, beauty, and joy are all around us if we open our hearts to them.

With soft illustrations depicting the "grayness" of anger, loneliness, gloominess, and other hard emotions, as well as the brightness of newfound happiness and appreciation for nature and friends.

Whether they are found in people, places, or the natural world, those "glimmers" that can lift a child's (or anyone's) spirit with wonder and gratitude; the next step is to share that with others and make their lives brighter too. A perfect book for those "gray" days of struggle and doubt....just keep looking for (and sharing) those glimmers!

Father's Day can be a wonderful day of celebration for many, but for others it may be a challenging day of pain, stress or struggle. In recognition of this, we wish to offer not only words of appreciation, but validation for all the feelings it may hold. In a spirit of support and caring, we wish a day of peace and whatever joy it may bring❤

World Refugee Day 2026

This year, World Refugee Day focuses on the right to seek safety as a common safeguard for all of us.

The right to seek safety was made for you and me. 75 years ago, after the Second World War, the world made a promise: people forced to flee have the right to seek safety and protection. It was never meant for a few. It was meant for all of us.

No one is safe until the most vulnerable among us are. When people are forced to flee their homes, we all have a role to play. Ensuring protection for refugees strengthens communities, promotes stability, and saves lives.

This World Refugee Day, help keep the promise of safety alive. Stand with refugees. Until everyone is safe, we show up. Until everyone is safe, the work is not done.

Celebrate & Learn!
Juneteenth 2026

“Juneteenth is the oldest known US celebration of the abolition of the chattel slave system, and the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in Texas. Celebrated on June 19, it became an official national holiday known as Juneteenth National Independence Day by law on June 17, 2021.” Full abolishment of chattel slavery--the Emancipation Proclamation only freed enslaved people in Confederate States-- occurred when the 13th Amendment passed on December 6, 1865,

New Release Highlights
Release Date: June 16

Summer is officially arriving next Sunday, and we've got a few highlights from the week's new releases to share.

The Day My Brother Became a Tree
by Xin Li
A stunningly illustrated picture book about moving to a new home that celebrates compassion, imagination, nature, and sibling love, by the acclaimed creator of I Lived Inside a Whale.

A Year of Marvelous Ways
by Sarah Winman
The remarkably life-affirming novel from the highly acclaimed author of Still Life, set in 1940s Cornwall following the unlikely friendship between an eighty-nine-year-old woman at the end of her story and a young soldier, reeling from World War II, at the start of his own.

Tangled Roots & Wild Dreams
by Angela Velez
A hilarious and moving YA coming-of-age about a girl juggling way too many lies, one very off-limits crush, and a secret summer internship—all while steering clear of the dreaded f-word: her future.

Haven and the Fallen Giants
by Jen Xu & Kate Rhodes
This full-color graphic novel is an exciting mash-up of dystopian futurism, fantasy adventure, and coming-of-age stories, with a dash of Avatar the Last Airbender for even more thrills!

Buffalo Dreamer
by Violet Duncan
National Book Award Finalist 2024 and Winner of the American India Youth Literature Award. An illuminating novel about the importance of reclaiming the past, based on the author’s family history.

I Eat the Stars
by Sarah Wilson
With her warm, incisively intelligent, wise, and down-to-earth voice, Wilson creates a space for readers to confront their fears and anxieties about an uncertain future, guiding them toward one rooted in truth, hope, justice, creativity, community, and to step up as “warriors” and meet the moment.

Coming Soon from Local Author!

Dashing Through the Show
by Cindy Goyette

Released June 16, but we have been unable to get copies due to publisher delay. We'll have signed copies ASAP.

Murder is under the mistletoe in the peaceful island community of Orca Cove. Holiday plans are put on hold to give attention to the grand opening of the Wiggle Butt Manor Agility Course. Special guest, Bentley, is supposed to dazzle on the stage; but the locals have had enough of his snooty trainer, Miles Collins. So has his killer. When Charlie Calderbank finds Miles’ body in the back of her moving van, it becomes the season of giving… alibis, that is. Her hopes for a Christmas romance are dashed when the local hot cop is forced to pay more attention to the clues leading to her door than the chemistry that simmers between them.

Tainted treats, a widow who raises a toast along with a few eyebrows, a groomer with a grudge, an angry Santa Claus, a nosey reporter, and a canine custody hearing have Charlie spinning in every direction, juggling clues, dogs, and blizzards. She must identify the killer, or she’ll spend her Christmas behind bars.
