Funky Munky Shaved Ice Valley View

Just a quick update everyone.

I know some of you have seen me around town and noticed I am looking a little different. I figured I would give everyone a quick little update on me and Funky Munky Gainesville. 😉

I have recently been diagnosed with a very aggressive grade 3, stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer with spread to the lymph nodes. I will have 24 weekly rounds of chemo, surgery and 20-25 rounds of radiation over the next year. Talk about a journey I did not see coming. Unfortunately this type of breast cancer also has a very high recurrence rate with spread to other parts of the body so I am trying my best to kick this thing. Ladies, I had a clear mammogram last fall and in less then a year later before it was time for a new mammogram I have stage 3. Be sure to do your self checks between mammograms. They say breast cancer usually doesn't cause pain. I had pain and thank God I did because that is how I found my lump ahead of schedule.

With this new journey that myself and family will be going through, we have decided that it is time for me to step back and just focus on me, less stress, healing and our family.

My sister Tonya who created Funky Munky over 10 years ago will be stepping up along with her husband Kevin, and will be taking over Funky Munky Gainesville. So ya'll don't panic.... FUNKY MUNKY GAINESVILLE will still continue to be here and will be here in the same exact location. You will be in great hands as we have the same desire, goals and community outreach. If you see someone next season at the stand that looks like me, sounds like me, but has hair, the odds are.... it's Tonya. 🤣 So ya'll be sure to show her some Gainesville/Cooke County love. If you see Tonya be sure to tell her my shaved ice tastes better than hers. Love ya sister!!! 😍

I want to thank all of my teams over the years and all of my customers. You guys made our summers so much fun and we would not be here if it wasn't for all of you. I will miss you dearly. If you see me around be sure to say "Hi" and remind me to kick this "C" in the bo**ie! Please send me thoughts, prayers and good juju for this journey as I will need it. Opening season is near. 😍 Be sure to follow us on the Gainesville page for opening day, 🍧give aways and more.

As a reminder the Valley View location and Muenster location will not be open this season. We will have the Gainesville location open along with our covered patio.

Anyone having serious Funky 🙊 Munky 🍧withdraws yet? Get ready because opening day will be here soon.😍 Please be sure to start following us again for opening day, team introductions and free give aways. I will also be implementing the little librarian 📚volunteer program this season, so please watch for that announcement. This new program will allow the littles to be a part of our team and add value to our Little Free Library and community.

If you guys can work your magic like you do every season I would appreciate it.❤️ Can you please share our page to help introduce our amazing shaved ice🍧 to anyone who has never heard of us or has never experienced a snowcone on steroids? 🤣

As a reminder we will not be opening the Muenster and Valley View locations this season and we will be open at our Gainesville location. I can't wait for all of you to enjoy the covered patio again this season. I am so EXCITED!!!! 🤩 I have missed all of you - Crystal

Hello Valley View and surrounding areas. Our 2025 🍧season is NEAR!!! 😍 Just a quick update on our Cooke County locations this year. The Valley View and Muenster locations will not be opening this season. Our Gainesville location will be open so you will be able to enjoy our Funky Munky 🍧 and games under our amazing covered patio. The covered patio stays in the shade, keeps you dry when it is raining and just makes it a relaxing outdoor experience 🤩. Our goal opening date in Gainesville will be April 1st! (As a reminder our opening date can change if any challenges arise or if my team is not quite ready. So be sure to follow our page for any and all updates.😉)

Please also help share the word that we are still open for the season. Unfortunately, when other stands close for the season everyone assumes we are all closed. We are still here! 😍The question we keep getting asked is, "When is your last day?". As long as you guys keep showing up to see us we will keep our season going. 😉

Have you made your Labor day weekend plans yet? Let us help you make it cooler with one of our party packs. 🍧 These are great for cookouts, poolside, lake days and any special group gathering. Due to the holiday, we will have designated times for picking up your orders that weekend. Sat. 31st pick up times will be 11:00-1:00 and Sun 1st you can pick up from 12:00-1:00.

To order please send me a private message with order details (flavors, size cups, day and time for pick up) and a phone number so I can reach out to you to finalize your order.

Each Party Pack is $49.95 + tax and comes with:
- Cooler of freshly shaved snow
- 3 Regular Flavors of your choice with pour spouts
-Fancy or Sugar Free Flavors are available for a small up-charge
- 20 Medium (12oz) Baboon Cups OR 30 Small (8oz) Chimp Cups
- Spoons

As a reminder we can do party packs any day and normally during all of our business hours. All orders must be placed and paid for no less than 24 hours in advance. The more time you give us the easier it is on our team. 😊

We are going to start celebrating a day early as I know it takes you guys a couple of days to see our posts. 😉

Come by and see us today and tomorrow and get you a Independence Day Firecracker!!! 🍧 It's Tigersblood, Silver Fox and Blue Coconut with a scoop in the middle. Then you get to choose with or without our homemade cream on top. So good!

We want to wish you all a Happy and safe 4th of July. 🇱🇷 Today, Wednesday the 3rd we will be closing at our normal time at 8:00 and tomorrow the 4th we will be closing early at 6:30 to allow our team members time to go and enjoy the festivities. 💥

A big shout out to my Munky team last night. These girls rocked it and worked so hard. 😍 Thank you to everyone who came by and saw us at Freedom Fest. Great job to the city of Sanger for putting on such a great event. So many great vendors, music and fireworks. 💥 It was AWESOME!! 👏
