Voting season is upon us!! AORN opened online voting and will run until March 31st at midnight mountain time. You’ll be voting on the AORN National Ballot for the Board of Directors and Nominating Committee for the 2020-2021 term. You can meet all the candidates to make an informed decision before casting your vote.

If we have enough votes from our chapter, we’ll be placed into a drawing to win a hotel and free registration for the 2021 Global Conference & Expo in Orlando, FL!

AORN has released a statement regarding the 2020 National Conference & Expo and we wanted to update our members if they haven't received an email surrounding the situation. After careful consideration, AORN and organizers of the event have decided to cancel the event to safeguard attendees, vendors, and staff from possible exposure to COVID-19. Hi AORN Members,

Want to give a review of our February education and business meeting.

First, thank you all for attending and bringing food donations for the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter! They were very grateful for your generosity.

Second, we'd like to thank D'Andre Berry and Cliff Springston from Stryker for a great presentation on Smoke Evacuation in Open and Minimally Invasive Surgery. We snuck in a few pictures from during the presentation, so take a peek!

Third, we're participating in the NWA Heart Walk on April 4th at 1000, and would love to have every one of you there to show your support for lifesaving science and increased awareness of cardiac disease. The walk begins at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. Brandi Fletcher-Ellzey from Mercy Medical Center - NWA is team lead for this project. T-shirts are on sale for $20 (adult) and $12 (youth) and must be ordered by March 13th. Don't forget to include your shirt size, please! She can be reach at [email protected]. Our friends at the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter need our help! They're in critical need of pre-packaged snacks such as granola bars, trail mix, crackers, pudding cups, fruit cups, and the like. Any donation small or large is very much welcome. You can drop the snacks off at two different locations. The Children's Shelter at 14100 Vaughn Rd, Bentonville or at The Shelter Shop at 2700 W Walnut, Rogers. We greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity!

Our snack shelves are almost empty! Our current supply will last for less than one week. We would appreciate any donations of pre-packaged snacks like crackers, granola bars, cookies, fruit cups, pudding cups, etc. Donations can be delivered to the Shelter at 14100 Vaughn Rd, Bentonville or to The Shelter Shop at 2700 W Walnut, Rogers. Thank you!

At the end of last year, our chapter had a volunteer outing at Apple Seeds in Fayetteville, and we'd like to share some of those memories and pictures. We made muffin veggie omelets and a fresh salad, all from ingredients picked from the Apple Seeds garden. We had such a fun time getting to know the kids and helping them learn about food, how it’s grown, and how it fuels our body. This outreach program is one the kids’ favorite when Apple Seeds visits their local school. And who came blame them when there's food involved!
