Some people don’t just go fishing. They live for it.

That describes Monette.

She spent two days on the water with Guntersville Bass Guides™, and from the first cast it was obvious she loves bass fishing. Hand her a baitcaster, a Texas rig, and let her go to work.

She was a lot of fun to fish with, stayed focused all day, and made the most of every opportunity Lake Guntersville had to offer.

Day one is in the books, and we still had another day of bass fishing ahead of us.

Every trophy has a story. Every check represents years of preparation.

With the fall tournament season right around the corner, now is the time to prepare with someone whose knowledge has been tested under tournament pressure.

For more than two decades, Capt. Jim Leary has competed on Lake Guntersville, building a tournament résumé that includes back to back Alabama Bass Trail 100 victories, the 2021 Inaugural ABT 100 Anglers of the Year, a BFL victory on Lake Guntersville, another BFL victory on Mosquito Lake, Ohio, an ABA Team Trail bass boat win, and countless tournament victories throughout his career.

Those accomplishments didn’t come against easy competition. The ABT 100 regularly attracted fields that included Bassmaster Elite Series anglers, Bassmaster Classic qualifiers, MLF professionals, and many of the best tournament anglers in the country. Winning at that level required consistency, preparation, and the ability to make the right decisions when every bite mattered.

Every trophy, every first place finish, and every winner’s check represents years of learning how Lake Guntersville changes, how bass position throughout the seasons, and how to make the adjustments that can make the difference between an average tournament and a memorable finish.

That’s the same knowledge Capt. Jim shares on every Tournament Prep Trip.

When you Book Direct with Guntersville Bass Guides, you know exactly who you’re fishing with. No surprises. Just experienced, professional guides with proven results.

Book Direct and get ready for the fall tournament season with Capt. Jim Leary.

Quality over quantity.

That’s been the story lately for Capt. Scott at Guntersville Bass Guides™.

While others are chasing numbers, Capt. Scott has been putting clients on some of the better bass Lake Guntersville has to offer.

Every trip is different, and there’s never a guarantee in fishing. But if recent trips are any indication, the quality has definitely been showing up.

If you’re looking for a chance at a better-than-average Guntersville bass, now is a good time to get on the calendar.

There’s something special about welcoming returning clients back to Guntersville Bass Guides™.

This grandfather and grandson make it a point to fish with us when they’re in town, and it’s always a pleasure catching up and spending another morning on Lake Guntersville together.

The bass cooperated, the conversation was even better, and another great day was added to the memories.

We appreciate the opportunity to be part of your tradition, and we look forward to seeing you both again on your next trip!

Every year, we look forward to welcoming Levi and Justin back to Guntersville Bass Guides™ while they’re in Alabama for the ASA Delta McKenzie Classic National Championship in Cullman.

Levi has won the championship multiple times over the years and has built an incredible résumé in competitive archery. No matter how the tournament goes, one tradition never changes. Before heading home, they always make time to get out on Lake Guntersville and chase bass with us.

It’s always great catching up, sharing a few laughs, and putting them on some quality Guntersville bass.

Safe travels, guys. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Elite isn’t just a title. It’s earned.

With the fall tournament season right around the corner, now is the time to prepare with someone who has competed and won at the highest level of professional bass fishing.

Bassmaster Elite Series Champion Derek Remitz made an unforgettable statement when he won the very first Bassmaster Elite Series event he ever competed in. From day one, he proved he belonged among the best anglers in the world.

Derek went on to build an impressive professional career, including a 3rd place finish in the Bassmaster Classic, behind only the legendary Kevin VanDam and the late, great Aaron Martens.

Success at that level doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from quickly breaking down a lake, recognizing productive patterns, adapting to changing conditions, and making the right decisions under pressure.

Now, Derek brings that same Elite-level knowledge to anglers preparing for the fall tournament season on Lake Guntersville.

When you Book Direct with Guntersville Bass Guides, you know exactly who you’re fishing with. No surprises. Just experienced, professional guides with proven results.

If you’re serious about being prepared before tournament morning, Book Direct and reserve your Tournament Prep Trip with Capt. Derek Remitz today.

The bite finally changed — and it changed fast.

For the last couple of weeks, Lake Guntersville has felt like it was stuck in between patterns. Early this week looked like more of the same.
Then something shifted.
The numbers jumped, the fish started grouping better, and some quality bass started showing up with them.
One young angler put a really big largemouth in the boat this week, and several of our trips turned into the kind of days where you knew the lake was finally moving in the right direction.
We’re also seeing two patterns that have really separated themselves from everything else right now — and those details are staying in the guide boats.
There’s a lot more to what changed this week.
