Couple coats of Shaker pine oil based stain on things. Really enjoying the contrast it brings. Still have to clean up a little excess epoxy, then finish sharpening. Also featuring a forged from spring steel blade with antler handle. Lots to do on that.

Solid progress on the friction folder. Blade is shovel cut and mildly forged to shape. Oak scales.

About 8 hrs later, ready for glue up, then shaping, sharpening, and sheaths. Also marks the return of friction folders. Have missed making them and the challenges they present. No glue needed is also a plus in my book. Stay tuned and stay safe.

Bit more progress, loads to go. That's all, carry on.

About time I get more blades out of the shovel head, unsure at this point how many I've cut out of the same one, but more than 3. Also spent some time working a flux core welded axe and drawing out a cut off of leaf spring. Wasn't sure if I was going to do a blacksmith knife, or two hidden tang, or maybe now even two blacksmith knives. Have to see what the metal wants to be. That's all for now, stay safe out there. Also, numerous canes are being sanded and de deadified, pictures of those coming so long as I remember to take them. Might even finally work the spring end clip thing in the pictures, rumor has it that it is also decent steel.

Making some good headway on the cultivator made out of woods treasures and old saw blades. Initial test of the rake went okay, needs a little tweaking yet. Naturally went and welded one of the v tines on upsidedown. Hope to have it finished tonight or tomorrow morning. Uncovering a lovely garden and hope this helps it.

Many thanks to all who stopped by the Woodland Creations craft show, was a much needed peaceful getaway at a lovely camp. After the 30-40 and windy as all heck weather, seems another false summer hit so onto farming? The woods provide. Once I figure out the cultivator, smithing will resume. That's all for now, stay safe out there.

Clearly don't have enough to complete, so why not start whole new projects? Pictures are a couple days old, but going to fire up the forge and do some more putsing. Also decided some previous work could be improved, so doing that as well. Start of two digging tools out of rail spike, one marked HC (does not actually equate to standard high carbon) but higher than the average spike. Another was marked MC something, blanking on the rest or what that means. Also conveniently forgot which is which. Also have handles close to completion on the axe out of old pick axe, a coil spring generic implement, and leaf spring dirksortathing. Will hopefully fine tune all those so I can test them, then start on the dreaded sheaths. (Axe chopped very dead wood just fine, but that was before having a decent ish edge on it) Stay tuned, and thanks for checking it out. Stay safe friends.

P.S Handle pictures just taken after a 2nd coat of tung oil and quick wipe down of butcher block oil. Figured I'd get the hydrating polymerisation process started. Okay, now that's all for now.
