To all of my beloved dancers and your families: It is with the saddest and heaviest of heart that I must announce the closing of my beloved Barre Room. Drastic changes in the dance industry, merchandise and attire for dance classes, and our local demographics have made it impossible to maintain a “bricks and mortar” storefront.
Over the past few years, competing with the internet and discounted dance supplier websites have taken a significant toll on my business. I have exhausted all of my financial, mental, and emotional resources in trying to push forward year after year. All of my efforts to keep this Uniontown staple open have failed. Thank you to all of our wonderful customers, past and present, many of whom have been like family, I greatly appreciated all of your love and support. Finally, thank you to everyone I have had the honor to work with over the past 31 years. You helped shape and mold me into the person that I am today. A special thank you to those who have worked for me over the past eight years. I have appreciated each and every one of you. And a very very special thank you to “my girls” Deborah Fortuna, Sherry Sturdevant, and Jennifer Ellsworth for sticking by me, being my rock, and my very best friends. In closing I will miss the laughter, the long conversations, and all of the smiles of my loyal customers.
