So CC today is day 2 of the open house, from 7-4. Looks like the rain will hold off for a while, stop by.
Yesterday we had 20+ people attend our 2 beginners 101 fly fishing class. Everyone left with a little more knowledge and skill. Thanks to our 3 reps from, Far Bank, Hardy and Orvis for leading their knowledge for the class. Stop in today as Steve will be doing some demo fly tying after 11:30. You can sit and watch and ask as many questions as you like.

We are are only a week away from our 15th annual open house event and just celebrated being open 16 years. We will have our traditional fisherman’s flea market in the parking lot, fly fishing 101 course on Saturday at 10 and 1 , reps from, Orvis, Hardy& Greys , Redington, Rio, Regal Vise and Korkers. Sunday we will have to fly tying demos as well. Hope to see you next weekend.

Reminder: for tomorrow’s class you will need to bring your waders, a rod if you have one you want to try, license, and a lunch. 10-12 will be class room basics, after lunch we will do the on the water part of the class. The weather is looking to be a bit warmer and sunny. Note : the class is $55.00 , it’s free if you buy a rod or outfit the day of the class. See you tomorrow!

The stimulator is one of the most under used flies here in the Northeast. In smaller dark sizes it’s a great imitation for early dark stones. Tied with green or yellow body color they can be a great imitation for little green stones and yellow sallies. In a size 8 with golden yellow or ginger body fished early morning ( first light) from the beginning to middle of June they are a great fly for golden stone fly hatch. Last but not least they are an excellent dry to use in dry/dropper setup. We always have a fairly full selection of Stimis in stock.

Good morning, we are still on today despite the weather. Right now it’s a bit icy in Union but it’s warming up slowly. Ice shoud be gone by 9. It’s going to rain hard all day so it is a great day to tie flies. Hope you can make it even for just a little while.

Reminder next Saturday 3/30/24 we will be doing our nymph class from 10-4. 10-12 will be class room style to do introductions to the tight line style of nymphing. We will go over equipment, rigging, flies , leader setup and basic reasoning behind the technique. We will break at 12 for a quick lunch break then head to the water for 1. We will look at water types, how to fish each, how break down each section to best fish it . We will put it all together and fish from 1:00 on. The class cost is $55.00. If you purchase a rod or outfit the day of the class the class is free. Below are a few of the nymph rods and reels we have in stock.
Couple of notes:
Please bring a lunch or we can order from our local deli.
If you’re going to fish please make sure you have your license.

Reminder that tomorrow 9am-4pm we will be doing a special tying and lying event with as many flies as we can being donated to casting for recovery. Come for an hour or all day. These tying sessions are a blast because everyone can learn something whether a new pattern or technique. Even if you can’t make it but want to participate you can donate flies. We have already had 1 donation of 80 flies which we really appreciate. Hope to see you tomorrow.
